SHRINE RIDGE

“To this day, I don’t care for the enclosure of buildings… I did find the entire world, in looking for something. I got saved by poetry, and I got saved by the beauty of the world.“ - Mary Oliver

“But then, I met you
And I started feeling myself open
I started feeling my “yes” coming back
And it was the sweetest thing I had ever known
Like the reverse of being haunted
Like taking a deep breath and pulling the fog off the glass….
Do you know how many times a day
My gratitude frames your autograph?”
- Andrea Gibson

Do you know how many times my gratitude has found its way back to you today? Or every time I think about this place?

So grateful for this moment, this hike, this sunset, this beautiful soul. Thank you Jo for taking me to this unbelievably serene and magical spot. 💙 …can’t wait to hike this one again.

“Poetry did this.”

“Love Letter From the Afterlife” a film of poet Andrea Gibson’s final performance before they lost their battle with cancer was absolutely the most incredible event I have ever experienced at Red Rocks.
Spellbinding.
Breathtaking.
Sold out.
By a poet who passed away a year ago.
And over half the attendees were from out of state.

I’m not sure I breathed for the entirety of the poetry performance it was THAT magical. And I knew all the poems.

Andrea Gibson is the most important poet of our generation. If you’ve yet to discover them or watch Come See Me in the Good Light, an Oscar nominated documentary about the last years of their life and their experience dying of cancer and how it saved them, please do.

Andrea’s confrontation of their mortality due to a cancer diagnosis brought a realization of love and the will to be more alive than they ever were. Andrea’s poems are so honest and beautiful because they are about these themes.

Andrea’s wife, Megan Falley spoke of how an individual dies twice: once when they leave their body, and again when the last person to say their name says it for the last time. We live in a world where we will never see Andrea’s words die—that second death. And I love that idea. Andrea will live on eternally in this way.

I have never witnessed 10,000 people crying and laughing so much at the same time before, but Sunday I did.
It was touching.
It was peaceful.
It was safe.
It was awe-filled.

Thank you Sara Bareillis, Chris Pureka, Megan Falley, and the Colorado symphony orchestra for one of the most magical evenings of my life and holding us all in love. And also very grateful to share the evening with another English major, Jo.

Andrea’s poetry created a common bond among thousands.
But so did their love.

And who doesn’t become better or feel better when something is all about THAT?

Just looooook at that #shine 😎😎
Need another reason to book a @keratincomplex treatment? If done immediately after a color service, it helps to seal the cuticle of your hair, ensuring minimal color fading between appointments.... and did I mention the shine??? .

Now is the time to book your @keratincomplex smoothing treatments... BEFORE it gets too humid out. This treatment can result in up to 90% curl reduction, up to 90% frizz reduction, reduced dry time, and increased manageability. With an additional #keratinexpressblowout option, (which is what was used to achieve these results) there’s something for everyone’s needs! .
