This time I found a book recommendation from fellow readers, and it’s part two of a book written by Filipino authors. It’s lovely to discover new Filipino authors, and I’m proud that so many of these talented writers have achieved global success. Filipino Author 🇵🇭 As part of #FAHM I’ve been introduced to a lot of amazing Filipino authors. I had the pleasure of meeting @msocampowrites who gifted me a copy of her novel My Ex is a Vampire which published on October 7th. I love a vampire story but I loved one with Filipino main characters better. The familial obligations, the food, the gatherings and the karaoke were all familiar attributes of Filipino culture. This YA story is about two Texas high schoolers whose significant others get taken by a local vampire court. They team up to try and hunt the vampires and keep their community safe. As they try and infiltrate the vampires, they learn that this court has many ties to the community and have been around for a long time. Each interaction gets more and more dangerous, are they prepared to finish what they started?
