POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday was a lot. In the most beautiful way. 💜

I thought I was prepared.

I got dressed, did my hair, got myself together and headed to Washington, D.C. to be recognized as one of the 100 Women of Excellence.

Then somewhere along I-95, the floodgates opened. 😭

Memories came rushing back. Things I've lived through. Things I've overcome. Things I've accomplished. So many moments I've brushed off with, “It's not that big of a deal.”

Apparently, my heart decided some of it was a big deal.

The ceremony was beautiful. The host and team didn't simply recognize us—they poured into us, speaking words of affirmation over women who are probably much more accustomed to pouring into everyone else.

And I received it. 💜

I also have to acknowledge Shari, the woman who submitted my name for this honor. Most know her as the PR behind my brands, but she has become my friend and family.

She said my name in a room I wasn't in—and yesterday she was there to watch me receive the recognition that followed. 🥹

And then...Jackie and Nance. 😭

I hadn't invited them because we'd been told seating at the ceremony was limited.

They figured something else out.

I was sitting at brunch waiting for the food when I caught them out of my peripheral vision...

With THREE FREAKING DOZEN ROSES. 😭🌹

I lost it.

They had secretly made arrangements to be there simply because my moment mattered enough to them to show up.

And maybe that was the lesson threaded through the entire day.

I know how to pour into people.
I know how to encourage.
I know how to support.
I know how to show up.

But I'm learning it's okay to stand still sometimes and let people pour into me.

It's okay to receive the flowers.
It's okay to receive the words.
It's okay to receive the recognition.

And it's okay to acknowledge that some of the things I've spent my life calling “not that big of a deal” actually were.

I came home exhausted, carrying three dozen roses, an incredible honor...

and a very, very full heart. 💜

Yesterday, I felt seen.

And I will never forget how that felt.

One year later...God did exactly what He said He would. 🙌🏾

Last year I wrote this post with a little humor and a whole lot of faith.

At the time, I had no book cover. No ISBN. No edited or final manuscript. No interior design. No launch date. No reviews. No rankings.

Today, I'm no longer saying "when I publish my book...

Living Out Loud is out in the world.

✔️ I 👏🏾am👏🏾 a 👏🏾published 👏🏾author. 🤗😮
✔️ Living Out Loud has been read by people across the country.
✔️ It became an Amazon bestseller in its categories.
✔️ It has heartfelt reviews from people whose lives were touched.
✔️ It has found its way into homes, hearts, airports, beaches, trains, book clubs, and hands I may never personally shake.

To every person who bought a copy, shared a post, left a review, sent me a message, or simply believed in me before there was anything to believe in...

Thank you.

This memory reminds me that dreams don't stay dreams when you keep showing up for them.

Here's to the next "when"...because I have a feeling God isn't finished with me yet.💛

Father I Thank You 🙌🏾

Keep Becoming.

For years, many of you have known me as the founder of CoCoBella Natural.

But what some people may not know is that writing has always been my therapy. Writing is where I have healed, where I have grown, where I have told myself the truth, and where I have found my voice.

Those writings, those reflections, those lessons… they turned into something.

A book.

Living Out Loud: Thoughts to Heal, Inspire, and Empower will be launching at the end of April, and I am both excited and terrified at the same time...because this is not just a book, this is pieces of my heart on paper.

But I’ve learned that growth requires courage, and purpose requires obedience.

So here we go…

"So, I saw this meme posted on a friend's page that says 'Write the book you want to read, because you’re going to have to read it 75 times.' And Whew Chile? I feel that in my soul today. 😩

WHY IS IT SO ACCURATE 😬

My formatter sent over the interior of the book and she absolutely ate...no crumbs or whatever ya'll be saying 🤭

It looks gorgeous! 😍

But now comes the 'fine-tooth comb' phase. I have to go through every single page line-by-line to make sure the flow is perfect and every margin is aligned before I order the physical sample copy and then I have to read it again.

I didn’t realize the full depth of this process when I started, but I want every word to be perfect for you guys.

We are officially in the home stretch!

Are y’all still excited or is it just me? 🤔✨📖"

"Mark your calendars (in pencil for now! 😉).

I’ll be dropping the official date the moment that physical copy gets my final stamp of approval.

Lawd ya'll. I done messed around and wrote a book🤦🏾‍♀️

Ok byeeee 👋🏾

SOMEBODY COME GET ME… because I just read the FINAL edited manuscript of my book and I am NOT okay. 😭📚

Like… it’s DONE done.

No more edits.
No more red marks.
No more “let me reread this one last time.”

The formatter gets it TODAY and promised a 24–72 hour turnaround, which means we are officially in the “ma’am… prepare your heart and your bookshelf” phase.

Why am I walking around my house whisper-screaming, “I wrote a whole book…” like I’m surprised? 😂

To everybody who already asked for signed copies... listen… I’m about to really start practicing my signature NOW so you don’t get straight chicken scratch in your book. ✍🏾🤣

This isn’t bragging.
This is joy.
This is gratitude.
This is years of healing and obedience paying off.

Living Out Loud just leveled up.
And baby… we are about to go to PRINT.

Stay tuned. 💛

Note to self: Practice my signature before it's time for signed copies of the book to go out… 😄✍🏽

Okay… so here’s the funny part.
So many of you commented that you can’t wait to get signed copies of my upcoming book, and now I’m realizing I might need to practice my signature so you don’t open your book and think, “What in the chicken scratch is this?” 😂
(If you know, you know... straight childhood memories.)

But seriously… thank you. Truly. 🙌🏾

The love, comments, shares, and messages on that post meant more to me than you know. It has become one of my most viewed posts since joining social media, and I don’t take that lightly. Your engagement reminded me that when you show up authentically, people feel it.

Now I’m curious. Let me ask you something:

What does Living Out Loud mean to YOU?

For me, Living Out Loud means doing the real work to heal, discovering my purpose, and walking in it unapologetically, without allowing the noise or opinions of others to redefine who I already know myself to be.
It means becoming the best version of myself, not just for me, but so that everyone I encounter is impacted by honesty, growth, and a willingness to pay it forward.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Drop them in the comments. I’m reading every one. 💛
