At the very beginning of this 2 year program, I married the love of my life & I got pregnant with Charlotte (no literally, we love a honeymoon baby haha). I was nervous about trying to be a new wife, mom, and student all at once, but Charlie really stepped up and wanted me to follow my dreams. He did everything he could to make that a reality from picking up shifts at a second job to cooking dinner and cleaning while I was in class all while managing being a new dad himself! I would notice during my classes, Charlotte was a ton more active and kicking like crazy as she would recognize my professors voices. Since she was born (quite literally during finals week of the first class in my summer semester), she has attended just about every class with me either in my arms or just out of camera view and would still get so excited when she would recognize the professors voices she had heard in the belly (her choice, Charlie would try to take her haha)! She has been by my side this entire time, and all I can hope is that I’m making her proud :’)! I have been so fortunate to have understanding and accommodating professors throughout my pregnancy and new mom journey. Even though I have been an online student, I’ve had every ounce of support for my educational and career goals poured into me by the most passionate advisor. Last but not least, I’m grateful for my students who I’ve been able to work with over the past two years. Y’all are my daily reminder of why I want to do what I do! Thank you for taking the time to sign my cap, I’ll cherish it forever. With that being said, I’m beyond excited to announce that this Thursday, May 9th at 3:30, I will be graduating with my Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (with a 4.0) from Mississippi State University! #hailstate ❤️🎓🧩

Earlier this month, @msu_behavioranalysis faculty and students participated in Behavior Analysis Association of Mississippi (BAAMS) Conference. Many graduate students were able to attend, as well as the entire ABA faculty. Many online students also had the opportunity to attend, allowing the chance to meet their faculty and peers in person for the first time.

Emily Hart, a second year ABA graduate student, also had the opportunity to present her research during the poster session.

Dr. Hallie Smith, graduate coordinator for the ABA program, will be taking the reigns as President of BAAMS in January. She will oversee and lead the organization, plan and lead the execution of action-oriented goals for the year, and oversee the executive council. She will also have plan and coordinate the 2022 BAAMS Conference.
