A small reminder that my life is happening between the deadlines too.

A butterfly I stopped for. Rain gathered on a leaf. Jellyfish moving as though time means something different underwater. The sky doing impossible things on the way home.
Our girls, a coffee date with Ollie, and my hand finding his arm without even thinking about it.

None of these moments crossed anything off my list. All of them mattered.

Tomorrow is 10/10, a date I like to treat as a small energetic reset. This year, it also coincides with the new moon and World Mental Health Day.
I could turn that into another reason to reinvent myself overnight. To make a longer list, work harder or become a shinier, more productive version of myself. I’m not doing that.
💫I’m choosing creation without punishment.🪷✨

More rest before resentment, more curiosity before pressure, more stories because I want to tell them, and more moments I don’t have to turn into anything at all.

Apparently my summer break became a social-media disappearing act. No dramatic exit. I translated Always, Again into Voor altijd, opnieuw, took our girls to Gran Canaria, hid two special editions in York, worked from the UK for two weeks so I could steal extra time with my love… and somewhere between all of that, my content battery died.

Posting every day had started to feel like another job I was failing at, so I stopped. I did not stop writing, though. A Christmas anthology deadline is glaring at me, a darker new series has started revving its engine, and Jaxx is becoming a problem. So hi. I’m back—not perfectly curated, but with books, chaos and probably typos. What did I miss?

Blijkbaar veranderde mijn zomervakantie in een kleine socialmedia-verdwijning. Geen dramatische exit; mijn batterij was gewoon leeg. Maar ik stopte niet met schrijven. Dus hoi. Ik ben terug. Met boeken, chaos en waarschijnlijk typefouten. Wat heb ik gemist?

Heres for a trip to Norway that I will never forget Im sure. After all it was the most wet one of all, Included one dead animal and just tested me to my limits and beyond by throwing once again everything it could against me. Little did it know Ive got a Finnish super power called Sisu in me.

You see, we Finns have something of a resilience. It has grown on us since ancient times when the Vikings tried to fight the Finns but quickly found out trading was the better option with these juggernauts.

So naturally, on the first day after a gruelling +600km ride at midnight after 18 hours of travelling from 6am (theres a ferry in it), when riding in the dark Norwegian woods after heavy winds and continuous rainfall a badger appeared on the road for a 2 second time window, my brain went "Animal - swerve!" but my body did nothing. A direct hit from the front tyre to the neck region and it was on its way to meet its maker.

Thinking back it was just luck I didnt brake as it would have probably made me fall down on the first day of the trip and game over. Stopped to breath in and check that the badger was dead. Then came the sisu part of not stopping - never stop. Checked the bike and off we went again.

The rest of the trip was exactly the same (without dead badgers tho). If it didnt rain like cats and dogs, there was this wall of misty water that eventually got through your gear and mind.

Im not much of a picture taker, but there wasnt a lot of possibilities to take any pictures either. I can even remember some occasions that I thought thats a picture right there but just couldnt care less as it was either cold, wet or both. The pictures you see here are literally the ones I took over the 6 days. I know, unbelievable.

Another thing was the southern parts of Norway. Ive never been there and it seems I might not be again either. Not saying it couldnt be nice to you but for me it wasnt nice enough to be honest. I missed the grandeur of Norway, the breathtaking stuff in the scenery. Have u ever been there and if so, what did I miss?
