In 2017, I started my nursing career in a small coastal town in Maine, and I’m ending my full-time nursing career in one of the busiest emergency departments in the United States. Every staff and travel experience along the way has been unforgettable and holds some of the best days of my life. But this team… this last travel contract and final staff position—it hits differently. From the people within the ER to the entire county, you became my family. This team is unlike any other.

From the miracles I’ve witnessed firsthand under my colleagues’ care to the unbreakable bonds we’ve built, we’ve seen life in its rawest form. We’ve walked into rooms filled with unimaginable heartbreak and overwhelming joy. We’ve watched life fade in seconds to “Any objections? Time of death…” and we’ve witnessed life in its very first moments—sometimes right out front in the parking circle: “It’s a girl!” We’ve held families together, and we’ve leaned on each other through it all—the good and the bad. Even on days with up to 400 patients, you all still show up, giving everything you have to better the lives of others.

To the people who supported me through my entire graduate school journey to earning my MSN/FNP—thank you. To my team, these past four years have been incredible. We’ve laughed together, cried together, and shared both the best and the hardest days. This is the most memorable team I’ve ever been a part of, and these memories will stay with me for a lifetime. You are some of the best providers and nurses I’ve had the privilege of working with. Your patients are incredibly lucky—just as I was.

Until we cross paths again, thank you for everything 🤍

My time in emergency medicine and trauma may be coming to an end, but I don’t think I’ll ever truly leave it behind. It’s my passion, and in this next chapter of my career, I plan to carry everything I’ve built into something even greater. Thank you all for being part of this journey 🤍
