Mountains in the Sky.
Unlike Earth, the mountains of the moon are formed from impact. The leading image features ‘The bay of rainbows’, a crater forged mountain range. A massive plain of basaltic lava sits below. These lava beds are named after seas, as early astronomers believed them to be exactly that. The other night a group of friends went to celebrate @taylorfreesolo birthday up at The Mount Wilson Observatory. I had the pleasure of being able to mount my camera through a special adapter to a 24,500mm telescope thanks to my buddy @blake_estes_13. It was an unreal experience getting to drive it and observe the Moon at such extreme magnification all the while listening to some epic live music thanks to @lgnnelson and team. Great times with great friends and family under the stars and thanks again for the experience Taylor 🖤. #moon #lunar #bayofrainbows #space
