Just a rough draft of a few edits with @kinglemuel47
Haven’t even fully culled through these yet, but I already loved every set. So much fun playing with light, color, and different vibes. I could seriously do all-day sessions 🫣 Excited to share more from these sets!

The third Alabama Short Films block's lineup is...

The Mayor of Rasslin'
Documentary Short Film
Director: Layla Khan-Hickman

In a small Alabama town where weekends body slams and town halls, "The Mayor of Rasslin'" follows the life of a beloved mayor and pro-wrestler who fights for his community—both in the ring and out of it.

The Chukker: Nation of Misfits
Documentary Short Film
Directors: Nate Billings and Charlotte Gale

The Chukker: Nation of Misfits is a short documentary that tells the story of the famed Tuscaloosa, Alabama establishment, The Chukker, from its conception in 1956 to the building’s condemnation in 2007. In the 70s, the establishment transforms from café to bar and the main clientele is made up of gay people, people of color, bikers, artists and intellectuals. For the remainder of its lifespan this clientele persists as the bar’s main crowd, and they create a name for themselves: “The Chukker Nation.” The Chukker: Nation of Misfits represents a unique beacon of acceptance that fostered and protected everyone from “normal folk” to drag queens, hippies, and bikers.
