Better late than never, but this is a memory I definitely want to keep

To be honest, as someone who’s still fairly new to the running scene, I never imagined I’d be stepping up as a pacer. A huge thank you to @fikrihusni11 and @absolutewellnessmy for this incredible opportunity and for trusting me with the task. It was truly an honor

Had an absolute blast pacing the Sub 3:30 group with my partner @fahmyunus . Congrats all the runners and friends who were there, thank you for being so welcoming and friendly! I’m so glad I got to meet so many of you and even made some new friends

Grateful for the experience and the company, what a perfect way to close out my 2025. I would be absolutely honored to do this again if given the opportunity

My half marathon debut… thought I planned it well but went wrong.

1. Despite my Z2 trainings & a simulation, I still didn’t manage to hit my target 2:30 - or at least a bit better or same to my simulation timing 2:37.

2. Never thought I would bonk coz I was doing quite well during simulation. Was consuming enough energy gels (or so I thought - I consumed 3 at KM8, KM15 and half of the sachet at KM18)

3. I’m not glorifying “not sleeping pre-race day”. It has been a big issue for me pre-anything: hikings, racing days, early morning events.

4. I swear I tried strategizing my sleeping time e.g tido lewat+bangun awal 2 days earlier so I can sleep in the evening before D-day but I ended up closing my eyes for HOURS without actually sleeping.

5. Never. Ever. Use new shoes on racing day. Biasakan kaki pakai that new shoes, baru bawak racing. I overestimated myself - I thought I’d rock this nylon-plated shoes the whole 21km. My legs got chronically tired (not cramp) KM17 ahead. 🫩

I skipped water stations yang awal2. I started drinking at KM9 - itu pun some sips, threw away the rest & threw the paper cups nicely in the trash.

6. Then I started to bonk. I desperately tried to fix myself & stopped at ALL water stations KM15 ahead. I forced myself to drink both isotonic & plain water. Eventually, my condition wasn’t improved & I was mildly bloated - nak makan the last energy gel pun tak larat dah.

All in all, I have learnt many lessons here. Thank you to everyone supporting me along this journey. 🫶

Tolong doakan I buat lebih baik in Twincity!

@muallimhalfmarathon event WAJIB join next year - I’ll tell you why on my next post. Thank you for having me Muallim!

Muallim Half Marathon 2025 pacer duty memang satu pengalaman baru buat acik. Proud to be part of Muallim Half Marathon 2025 dan help runners achieve their goals together. 🏃‍♂️💪

See you guys at @muallimhalfmarathon 2026🔥🔥🔥

PS kali ni acik tengah fikir aman otak acik hilang tadi lupa la 🫠
