Cumberlands is the big preseason favorite. They look to return three runners from the top 65 last year and pull in a phenomenal recruiting class. Luca Madeo puts them over the edge here, as a 4 time NAIA national champion.

Southern Oregon returns its entire 6th-place squad from a year ago, led by top-five finishers Mason Weisgerber and Carter Stedman. They return one more top 70 finisher and a stable of solid athletes to round out their top five. The addition of Andrew Rush gives them a strong third runner and a lot of fire power up front.

Indiana Wesleyan loses three scorers from their nations title team, but they could reload fast. 5k champ Trenton Sweet headlines a solid group of young returners, while IWU also brings in two of the top freshmen in the NAIA.

Milligan finished 8th last year without a top-40 finisher. 2x XC All-American Bryson Lewis headlines a solid group of returners that impressed in the spring. In addition Milligan brought in a solid recruiting class featuring some immediate contributors.

Goshen Hogan, Kogei, Kimaiyo, and Songo all have high end All-American potential. A big season from a 5th runner could help this team take the jump up from 18th.

Madonna was 11th last year and returns Mehdi Nait Hamoud plus two other top-90 finishers. Three recruits with 14:45-15:05 5K PRs give this team much needed depth to improve upon their 11th place finish.

UT Southern missed nationals last year but looks vastly improved. They have a high end returning duo in Villazon and Kipruto. They added two big time recruits, including Spencer Head.

Corban placed 13th a year ago and brings back a number of their top athletes from a year ago including front runner Jack Gladfelter. If Caleb Lakeman stays healthy and Carson Beurgy translates well to 8k this team has massive upside.

College of Idaho finished 14th and returns a deep group headlined by Antonnen and Ryan,. If their recruiting class adapts well to the 8K, they have a high ceiling.
