🚨 UNPOPULAR OPINION: Downtown is not dying. Y’all need to calm down. #gsonc

Yes, some restaurants have closed. And somehow that turned into a whole narrative that downtown Greensboro is dying, scary, doomed…

I don’t agree. At all.

I’ve watched downtown Greensboro change SO much over the last 10–15 years, and I think it’s better than ever. But “better than ever” doesn’t mean these local businesses don’t need us. Quite the opposite.

Y’all. Drive the extra five minutes. 😂 Parking is really not that bad. Grab the coffee. Make the reservation. Buy the art. Take the class. Try the new place.

There are incredible chefs, restaurant owners, artists, coffee shop owners, gym owners, makers, creatives and entrepreneurs putting their hearts into making this city somewhere worth going.

Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen is such a cool example of that. When local restaurant closures got people talking, Greensboro restaurant owners collaborated and created something that gets people trying local restaurants AND supporting the people behind them.

Because here’s the thing: **If we want cool local businesses to stay, we have to actually GO TO THEM.**

Downtown isn’t nearly as scary as the internet wants you to think, Y’ALL. Go downtown. Eat the food. Order the cocktail. Grab the coffee. Buy the art. Take the class. Shop the store. Tip well. Tell your friends. #supportlocal #sogso #downtowngso #thebethsauerteam

And because I refuse to gatekeep the good stuff, I’m tagging some of my favorite people and places below. 👇 Go follow them. Hype them up. Then go spend some money with them.

This isn’t just candle making… this is manifestation in motion.

Every pour reminds me that when you stay obedient, consistent, and intentional, God will provide beyond what you imagined. From moving into a beautiful storefront with my business partner @julie.saldivia , to seeing D Scents in spaces like Muddle, Studio 136, Northern Roots, Peace of Her by Lou—and now our own shop—this journey has been nothing short of divine alignment.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get better… North Italia reached out to collaborate.
Three scents. One city. Pure authenticity.

Introducing Gate City Spritz, Greensboro Giardino, and Piedmont Limonata—
the newest collaboration between D Scents x North Italia.

This is what living life on purpose, with purpose looks like.
