A big week of another AFW all wrapped up 📸 Lots of early mornings and long days racing around the city, plenty of coffee, taking way too many photos across runway & street style, with many many steps taken throughout the process! Always such a fun opportunity to be a part of this wonderful week, and I’m extremely grateful to be standing in the media pit 🥰❤️ Now off to edit thousands of photos….. @hollwillphotography

June 2020 was a heavy time for the world, but for me, it felt like the floor had fallen out. I had moved NOR just before Covid hit, and my life felt unrecognisable. My epilepsy was in full force, seizures were back, and because of that, I lost my licence. I was in a dark fog of depression and anxiety. At the time, I had undiagnosed ADHD; I didn’t realise it then, but I was acting erratically, being impulsive, and feeling completely out of control. It was truly one of the hardest times of my life.

Logically, I should have looked for a stable office job and focused on getting better and getting my licence back...

Instead, I did something “crazy.” I signed a commercial lease in Osborne Park. I wanted to be more creative, I needed to become a better photographer, and my “excuse” was that I just needed to get all my equipment out of the house!

Welcome to Parker & Stone.

I had no idea what I was doing, how I was going to run a studio, or even how I was going to pay the rent. But through the craziness of my mental health struggles, something incredible happened. I didn’t just survive; we built a community. We’ve had the most bloody talented creatives walk through these doors, and I’ve made friends I never would have met if it weren’t for P+S.

After 6 incredible years, it is the end of an era. P+S will be taking its last booking on 17 May.

This isn’t a choice made because we don’t love this space or this community. Our lease has simply come to an end, and the building owners will be moving in. It’s bittersweet, but I look back at all the incredible shoots, parties, and videos with nothing but pride.

To every person who ever made a booking, took photos, had a party, or created here: Thank you. You didn’t just support a business; you supported me through the most transformative years of my life. I honestly don’t know where I would be today without P+S and the people who helped build this space.

A special shout-out to my now wife, Rachael. You have always been there for me through thick and thin, painting walls, hanging backdrops, setting up for events, and so much more. You are my ride or die. P+S wouldn’t be the same without you!

Thank you.

Love,
Jana

once upon a time, two creatives went to the same exhibit & saw it entirely differently

pre-chandelier: seen through the lens of @franzdiary & his ridiculously wonderful eye for form, contrast and elevation 🫀
post-chandelier: seen through the lens of your truly & her affinity for treating observers in the space as the exhibit itself 🫂

not pictured: us giggling in an expensive space 🤓💅 (thank you for sharing your talent with me as always sweet friend)
