Listening as an ethic, an opening, a way to move forward, and a way to allow and let go.

What a wonderful weekend of voicing the unvoiced, addressing the unaddressed, learning and unlearning place, media, memory, and loss. We interviewed the (un)dead, whispered loudly, sutured the veil that binds the very very young and very very old, and remembered the doubling of deaths that we all angle forever toward: when we die and the last time someone says our name. In all this we heard pairings of love and loss, the invitation to let many things go, and to keep others as resonant echoes.

At the Frankfurt Hauptfriedhof, ‘ol Theodor Adorno’s burial place, on Mother’s Day, amongst the bees who build their homes between the gravestones of this Jewish cemetary—we made small recordings, soundings, playbacks and talks that tried to hear what such a charged place had to say. Now, then, and into the future.

So many thanks to @se.matthias for the invitation, and to the cohort at FRA-UAS @angewandtepflegewissenschaft for such a gentle, touching way to ring in the tranformations of Spring, together.

And to those who blew us toward the “brown lips of the reeds” by means of writings and other things—Will Schrimshaw, Cassie Thornton, Rebecca Solnit, George E. Lewis, Brandon LaBelle, Charles Stankievech, Janet Cardiff and many others—thank you.

HipHop – Open Mic – Band.

After my camera was stolen during the Big Muffi Dance Battle, I honestly thought I’d be standing still for a while. But thanks to all of you who supported, donated, and encouraged me, I’m back behind the lens!!

Thank you for making this possible ❤️📸
