Our Bali adventures took us to the beautiful Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan Waterfalls, each with its own unique charm and natural beauty.

From lush tropical jungle surroundings to the spectacular sight and sound of cascading water, Bali really does know how to take your breath away! 🌿💚

🎆 NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A BANGING DINNER! 🥘💥

Only fireworks lighting up Seminyak Beach could make tonight’s dinner even more spectacular! 🎆🌴

On the menu tonight… 😋

🍴 Roasted duck breast with artichoke coulis, crispy artichoke chips, sautéed escarole, all finished with a rich duck jus!

Beautiful food, beachfront views and a surprise firework display… now that’s dining with a bang! 💥🥂

Well, you certainly never know what you’re going to discover on your travels! 🇮🇩

This time, our Bali adventures took a rather spiritual turn when I welcomed I Ketut Budiasa, a traditional Balinese healer from Sanur, to our hotel spa for a private chakra alignment. 🌸

His healing practices have been passed down through generations, and the experience involved cleansing and balancing the body’s seven chakras to encourage harmony and positive energy. ✨

But here’s where things got interesting! 😂

He started reading my palms, and I couldn’t believe the very first thing he told me…

“You say sorry far too much!” ✋🤣

Well, Paul nearly could have told him that himself!

Last year, Paul, Holly and Dylan all said exactly the same thing…

“Mum, why are you always saying sorry? It’s not your fault it rained and the washing got wet on the line!” 😂☔

Apparently, even travelling halfway around the world can’t hide my habit of apologising for absolutely everything! 🤣

Whether you’re a believer in spiritual healing or simply curious about different cultures and traditions, that’s what we love about travelling. 🌏❤️

Discovering new places, meeting fascinating people, embracing different experiences and sometimes learning something unexpected about yourself along the way!

Another wonderful Bali memory to add to our adventures. 🥰🌴

A couple of years ago in Thailand, one of my absolute dreams was to bathe with elephants.

I couldn’t wait… until I actually stood next to one and realised just how ENORMOUS they were! 😂 Something I hadn’t expected at all ( signing a if they crush me disclaimer beforehand didn’t help!) 😂

Fast-forward to Bali and, standing at the top of this swing overlooking the rice fields, that exact same feeling came flooding back!

The video doesn’t even show how high it felt or just how big that drop looked when I was standing there waiting to be strapped in. 😳

Part of me was definitely thinking, Why am I doing this?! 😂

But I did it anyway.

And I’m SO glad I did.

Because some of the best memories we’ve made while travelling have started with that little moment of thinking, I’m not sure I can do this…

…and then doing it anyway! 💚🌴

Another beautiful experience here in Bali, embracing the island’s spiritual traditions and taking time to nourish my mind, body and soul. 🌺

Today began with a wonderfully relaxing full-body massage and facial at our hotel spa. Pure bliss! 💆‍♀️💚

Tonight, I experienced Sandikala, a beautiful traditional Balinese twilight ritual, dressing in traditional Balinese clothing and taking part in sacred offerings, chants and blessings. 🙏🌸

Sandikala marks the transition between day and night, a spiritually significant moment in Balinese culture. It’s a time to pause, reflect, welcome serenity and restore harmony and balance. ✨

And tomorrow, my wellness journey continues as a spiritual guru is coming especially to our hotel spa to give me a personal chakra alignment using healing crystals. 💎🌈

Chakra alignment is an ancient spiritual practice focused on balancing the body’s seven main energy centres. Crystals are traditionally believed to encourage harmony, emotional balance and inner peace.

After everything my body and mind have been through over the past 18 months, these moments of stillness, self-care and spiritual connection feel particularly meaningful. 💚

Taking time to appreciate different cultures, embrace new experiences and enjoy everything this beautiful world has to offer.

Feeling the fear and doing it anyway… living life more fully, one adventure at a time! 🌍❤️

🌴🐟 A little piece of paradise at Tirta Gangga Water Palace, Bali! 🇮🇩💚

This beautiful royal water palace was a real treat for Paul, especially with all the magnificent koi carp swimming around us! 🐟❤️

Anyone who knows Paul knows how much he loves koi carp. He even has them tattooed on his body! We had our own beautiful koi pond built into our decking at home, full of these gorgeous fish, until last year. So being surrounded by so many of them here in Bali brought back some lovely memories. 🥰

👑 A little history too! Tirta Gangga was built in 1948 by the last King of Karangasem, during the final years of Dutch colonial rule. The King actually helped build these beautiful gardens himself! Sadly, much of the palace was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963, but it has since been beautifully restored. Its name means “Water of the Ganges”, reflecting the sacred springs that flow through its pools and fountains. 💦

And as if the koi weren’t enough, we even spotted a hanging fruit bat 🦇🌳

Such a peaceful, magical place filled with history, nature and a little nostalgia for us both.

Our journey to the famous Gates of Heaven took us through miles of breathtaking lush green rice paddies, traditional Balinese villages and stunning mountain scenery. 🌾🌿

And when we finally reached the magnificent Gates of Heaven at Lempuyang Temple, we discovered something we didn’t know… NO KISSING ALLOWED! 💋😂

Paul and I shared a little kiss for the camera and promptly got told off! 🙈

We learnt that Lempuyang is one of Bali’s most sacred Hindu temples, where public displays of affection, including kissing, are considered disrespectful in a place of worship.

And just to make sure we got the message, we were asked to delete the kissing photos AND remove them from our recently deleted folder! 😂📱

Oops! Lesson learnt! 🙏

Apart from our little romantic mishap, what an incredible experience! Another beautiful place, another wonderful memory and another story to tell from our travels together. ❤️

Went for a walk along the beach and found a lovely Sea Turtle Village Sanctuary 🐢

Enjoyed a velvety butterscotch latte by the sea ☕️🌊

Then a little shopping for outfits for our granddaughter and Dad 👗🛍️

Found some new matching wristbands to sit alongside the orange ones we’ve worn since visiting a sacred temple in Thailand almost three years ago 🇹🇭💕

And, of course, we finished the day with a cheeky Bintang and piña colada 🍻🍹and enjoyed some delicious Balinese cuisine — Nasi Goreng Nare Bali 🍛🇮🇩

As we celebrated 24 years of marriage with the most gorgeous meal at Miller & Carter I realised how lucky I am.

Yes, the scallops were divine, the lamb rump and dauphinoise potatoes were sublime, Paul’s T-bone was delicious, and the profiteroles and chocolate brownie at the end were such a lovely surprise. 🥂❤️

But tonight wasn’t really about the food.

After everything the last 18 months have brought us, this anniversary feels a little more special.

From the moment I was diagnosed with cancer, through chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and everything else that has come our way, @granty4ever1
Paul has been right there beside me.

He has held my hand, picked me up, made me laugh, looked after me, reassured me and loved me through some of the hardest days of my life.

And somehow, through all of it, we’ve become even stronger.

Twenty-four years ago I married my best friend. My twin flame. My soulmate. The love of my life.

And if I had to choose all over again, through every high, every low, every adventure and every challenge…

I’d still choose you. Every single time. ❤️

Happy 24th Anniversary, Paul.

I love you more than ever and after the last 18 months, I don’t think I’ll ever take another anniversary, another meal, another laugh or another ordinary day together for granted.

Here’s to us, to everything we’ve already lived, and to all the beautiful chapters still waiting for us. 🥂
