📍MUMBA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2026/ 7 th Edition. 🎥
It was a wonderful experience to be part of the Mumbai International Film Festival as Chief Judge.

As always, it was a truly enriching experience, filled with meaningful cinema, creative perspectives, and valuable learning. This edition marked Version 2.0 of the festival, evolving from a short film festival into a broader film festival, bringing together a diverse range of short films, documentaries, and other cinematic works.

Watching these films was a great opportunity to appreciate different storytelling styles, fresh ideas, and the passion of emerging and established filmmakers. It was also a valuable learning experience that offered new insights into the art of filmmaking.

My heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and my best wishes to every filmmaker and participant who contributed to making this festival a memorable one.

Wishing the Mumbai International Film Festival continued success in celebrating cinema and encouraging new voices in filmmaking.

Some films become deeply personal because they bring us back to parts of ourselves we thought we had left behind.

Hage Tade's story, his music, his loneliness, and his longing for his family remind me of my own difficult days and the experiences that changed the direction of my life. Being with him and the other members of Deepak Nabam Living Home feels like life coming full circle. This film is very close to my heart.

My heartfelt gratitude to FTII Itanagar and my mentors @abdulshahi13 Shahi Sir, @mukulhaloi Mukul Sir, @bishnudevh Bishnu Sir, Nilotpal majumdar Sir, Deepa Dhanraj Ma’am, and Jumken Tacha for his brilliant work as production assistant. Thanks to @kaushikdas_gram Kaushik Sir, @lodam_gongo Lodam Sir, @pratham.kar Pratham Sir, Emon Sir, @rkart89 Raju Sir, @potatoenextdoor Samriddhi Ma’am, Partho Sir, Benezer ma'am ,all the faculty members, staffs and my friends for their support.
Thanks to each and everyone of Deepak Nabam Living Home @deepaknabamlivinghome

Sometimes, Life Just Happens… 🎬✨

There are moments in life that you simply cannot plan.

You don't know why they came.
You don't know how to react.
You don't even know how you reached there.

You just stand there…
hold the moment…
and let it happen.

No questions.
No explanations.
No overthinking.

Just go through the process.
Grab the moment.
And keep moving forward.

Maybe someday, you'll look back at this moment and understand why it happened.

Today, I'm not trying to understand it.
I'm simply living it.

From being a viewer of cinema
to holding a moment like this in my own hands…

Life has a strange way of writing its own screenplay. 🎬

And right now…

I think I'm just supposed to be in this scene.

From an idea in my heart to a film on the Prestigious festival screen… ❤️🎬

NEELOTHI, my debut film as a writer-director, continues to take us places I once only dreamed of.

Made with limited resources, countless challenges, and a team that believed in this story, every selection and every screening feels incredibly special to us.

Now, we’re honoured to receive an invitation from the Mumba International Film Festival and excited to share Neelothi with another audience.

🎬 NEELOTHI — Screening
📅 6 October 2026
⏰ 6:14 PM
📍 NFAI, Pune
For a first-time filmmaker, moments like this are more than a screening — they are a reminder to keep believing in the story you started with. ❤️

Grateful to the festival, our incredible team, and everyone who continues to support Neelothi.

The journey continues… ✨
