For @opentable Petit Omakase series, we built the campaign to toggle between luxury and whimsy, borrowing the visual language of old-world fine dining and then pushing it somewhere more playful. Gold, white gloves, and precise plating established the ceremony. From there, we built the main film around a probe lens, gliding through the tablescape to make the miniature dishes feel more architectural. Oversized sound design turned tiny clinks and crinkles into something more theatrical, while the music also included dainty strings and chamber textures to reflect that same dramatic quality. With a mix of practical art (including a handmade paper-cut logo!) + exaggerated VFX, every element was designed to make this miniature world feel luxurious, whimsical, and just a little absurd. My Coming Out story🏳️‍🌈 Recreated for AAPI Heritage Month + Mother’s Day❤️ When I was 24, I “came out” to my parents as lesbian via group text😅 I was terrified. My dad replied instantly with support, but my mom didn’t reply & didn’t speak to me at all for a few months. It broke my heart to think she didn’t support me. But later that year, I went home for the holidays to an unexpected surprise. My mom said, “I was thinking of you when I was out. Got you some clothes. They’re in your room”. Upon walking into my childhood bedroom, a pair of RAINBOW pajamas was waiting for me on the bed. Though my mom never spoke of it, I knew it was her way of saying that she loved & accepted me🥰 Asian cultures don’t typically show affection the same way as other cultures. Instead of saying, “I love you”, we cook for each other. Instead of a big hug, we often embrace each other with a soft glance & smile. While this gesture of rainbow pajamas may not seem like much, it meant the world to me & I know it took a lot of courage/resilience for my mom to do it✨ HUGE thank you to my incredible cast & crew for helping me bring this true story to life! This is, by far, the most personal piece that I’ve ever created. It was an absolute honor to be able to collaborate with a real-life family of actors and shoot the entire project in their family home🙏🏼 If this film/message resonates with you, please drop a comment & share💝 —Olivia A narrative spec commercial for @kohls -Writer/Director/Editor: Olivia Wong 💁🏻‍♀️ @oliviawong11 -Production Company: OWong Productions @owongproductions -Producers: Olivia Wong 💁🏻‍♀️ @oliviawong11 Monique Magpayo @moniqueburiasshi Larry Tang @larry.tang08 -Starring: Monique Magpayo @moniqueburiasshi Marisa Magpayo + Carlos Magpayo Jr. -DP/Colorist: Larry Tang @larry.tang08 -1st AC: Aaron Cheung @acheung_ -Gaffer: Chase Okimura @muralighting @chaseoki -Key Grip: Min Kee Kim @tirekim -AD/Scripty: Natalie Dang @naatdee -Sound (on set/post production): Amber Li @amberlisound -BTS Photographer: Soohyun Song @kimchi_butt -BTS Videographer: CJ Stanton @stxntxn -Composer: Jacob Katz @jkatz.composer #aapiheritagemonth #mothersday #comingout #lgbtpride
