The Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation recently received a $550,000 grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to support construction of the hospital's Patient Care Expansion Project.

Created by the will of the late Melvin J. "Jack" Murdock, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust provides grants, programs, initiatives, and convenings for nonprofit organizations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington that seek to strengthen the region's educational, social, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways. “This investment recognizes something our community and patients experience – the need for premier local health care and better access to it,” said Matt Forge, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital.

We're delighted to have just installed two new works of art at @murdocktrust, one of our longest-established clients. It's always a pleasure to come over to Vancouver, WA, and work with them.

We've installed two beautiful pieces by @sarkisantikajian. Sarkis has been with the Rental Sales Gallery for many decades now, and his works are beloved parts of collections found all across the country.

Even when the gallery is temporarily closed, the work does not stop!

How are Oregon nonprofits measuring what matters 📊?

NAO’s latest report, The Practices of Evaluating Impact in Oregon Nonprofits, draws on interviews with 34 nonprofit leaders statewide to explore the strengths, challenges, and opportunities of impact evaluation 📋.

The report is part of a five-state Northwest study conducted in partnership with M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust (@murdocktrust) and Dialogues In Action (@dialoguesinaction). 🤝 Interviews were conducted by NAO and fellow state associations: The Foraker Group in Alaska (@theforakergroup), Montana Nonprofit Association (@mtnonprofit), Nonprofit Association of Washington (@nonprofitwa), and Idaho Nonprofit Center (@idahononprofits).

Some places are worth protecting simply because they make you stop and appreciate how lucky we are to experience them.

The rivers, mountains, and wild places around Idaho have given me some of my favorite memories and protecting them means making sure they’re still here for the next generation to enjoy.

The Henry’s Fork is more than just a beautiful stretch of water. It’s an ecosystem that supports wildlife, communities, agriculture, recreation, and so much of what makes this part of Idaho special.

I’m grateful to partner with Henry’s Fork Foundation and M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to help share the importance of protecting these waters for years to come and how nonprofits & foundations are supporting that work.

Global Mindset Moment: Today, we welcomed Elaine Charpentier Philippi from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to visit our STEAM lab! This incredible space gives students from Maternelle through Middle School opportunities to explore, create, and bring their ideas to life, and it was made possible by a generous grant from the Trust. From robotics and engineering to podcasting and digital storytelling, the STEAM lab builds on classroom learning and inspires students to discover new passions. Thank you, Elaine and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, for investing in our students and helping us create opportunities for them to learn, grow, and innovate.

The work RBHI and the M.J. Mudock Charitable Trust/ charitable foundations @murdocktrust are doing to help bridge the gap in mental health care and improve access for children and families in rural communities is something I’m genuinely grateful to have the opportunity to share.

As an educator and Montanan, this cause is close to my heart. Mental health is health, and every child deserves the opportunity to feel well enough to learn, grow, and thrive. 🤍
