Artist: Leo Christopher
Location: Brighton, UK 🇬🇧

Tune in for a 90 minute, all vinyl mix of stripped-back, rolling house with a deep, techy, dubby edge.

London-born and Brighton-based, Leo Christopher is a DJ, producer and the founder of Murmurations, a vinyl-only imprint that puts the wax first.

Across 90 minutes, he takes his time rolling through deep, and the dubby textures whilst keeping the energy moving without ever rushing it. It’s a mix music that’s patient, hypnotic and an ode to the underground.

PREMIERE: @leochristopher_ - Underground

interview & art:cast °198 | Kerouac

25 years of making music, condensed into one hour—and this time, there’s nowhere to hide behind somebody else’s records.

For his contribution to our art:cast series, Kerouac steps outside his comfort zone with a mix consisting entirely of his own productions. Around 90% is still unsigned, some tracks were finished only a day before recording, and everything is rooted in his current fascination with the deep, stripped-back sounds of 90s and early-2000s US House and Tech House.

Alongside the mix, we caught up with Mike to trace the journey behind it: from discovering Boards of Canada and spending a month’s wages on his first synth to finding homes for his music on D’Julz’s Bass Culture, Deep Steppe and Burnski’s Constant Black—and, after all these years, finally learning to trust his own process.

art:cast + interview now live via Torture the Artist.
