💭What I thought:

13 interconnected fairytale retellings and they all have a tech aspect?! Say less! I was sold.
They were dark. They were twisty. They were creepy.
They were sooo gooood!!! I devoured them. Seriously didn’t wanna put them down. I think Red was my favorite. They were all fantastic though… and the ending?! WOW! Wasn’t expecting that!!! I think I stared at the wall for a solid 5 minutes thinking “wtf?!” when I was done! Highly highly recommend🙌🏽
This is perfect to pick up for a creeptastic Halloween read.
I haven’t watched Black Mirrror but everyone says these are like that show sooo I guess I need to check it out!

So glad Murphy reached out with the opportunity to check these out!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!

Ever After Glitched is a gritty, dystopian take on 13 different fairytales you know and love. Including Snow White, Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood and more.
Most of these stories involve technology and AI, in a (not too distant) futuristic world setting, making it almost Black Mirror-esque. Weaving the magic and supernatural folklore aspects of fairytales, this collection makes for a captivating read. I was glued to it and really struggled to put it down!
We see some of the same characters across the stories, and that really ties this collection together. It was a great read and if you like fairytales and stories about technology gone bad I think you'd really enjoy this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a collection of Dark Fairy Tales and Digital Age Horror stories. The stories will make you reconsider your favourite childhood tales, and be terrified (if you're not already to be fair) of technology.

While playing with somewhat familiar tropes (as mentioned above with fairytales and technology etc), I found the author had a unique writing style and really made these stories and tropes his own. They were spooky, entertaining and kept me reading.

If I had to choose a favourite, I'd say "Red Mode"
I really liked the writing style and thought it was freaky!!

One for the horror fans!

Huge thank you to @murphygraybooks for #gifting me an ebook!

💭This was amazing! I seem to be seeing more fairytale retelling's recently and this one definitely gets the heart pumping! I love how Murphy puts the likes of Red Hiding Hood and Snow White into the modern world, some of the stories are interwoven as Amanda appears in a few.

I really liked the pacing on these, the stories have been brought up to date with things like AI mentions and computers but it hasn't taken away from the original, only added to them.

I really enjoyed the concept of this, so many older stories have lost the copyright so, many stories are open to so many possibilities and I could totally see this becoming a mini-series on tv!

Absolutely devoured this collection of twisted up, glitched, warped retellings of fairytales and traditional bedtime stories. From the three pigs, Goldilocks and the three bears, little red riding hood, snow white, cinderella, and more Murphy has crafted a series unlike any other. Just remember, no one is safe. Not really. I was really excited when Gray approached me and asked if I'd be interested in checking out this collection of twisted fairy tales. The one story that really sealed the deal for me, was the synopsis of Red. Something about a horror streamer that brings fear to her followers, who goes deeper to get the perfect stream, it just really resonated with me and I was sold on that story alone. After reading this collection, that story was great, but it wasn't my favourite, there were others that took that mantel. A couple of stand outs for me was White as Sin, #worn, and Final Cut. All of the stories were absolutely fantastic, unique and really stood on their own, each different from the last, yet some where connected, a character here from another story, a location there, I loved how some of the stories were connected, and yet they were still all completely unique.

If you're after a niche horror collection, give this one a go. I thoroughly enjoyed every single story and loved the way they were all unique. And that second last story? That shook me, so much so that I had to check on the author as soon as I finished. Give it a go!
