Museum literacy is an important issue for leadership to consider. How can we help our communities know, and feel comfortable, with the idea that museums are a source for tools to talk about issues like race and trauma and social equity?

Likewise, as Historian Tyree Boyd-Pates suggests, "we also need to be aware of how Black and Brown bodies experience museum spaces....representation is one thing but transformation is another." @TyreeBP #MW21 @museweb

During covid, did your institution HIDE or be NIMBLE? Eric Moraczewshi points out that those who were nimble, and made efforts to secure non-traditional partnerships with community restaurants, stores, hotels, other non-profits etc moved forward and generated donor revenue. Of course safety was paramount, but community partnerships were key to securing both safety and revenue @museweb #MW21 https://t.co/xDRXZ4WlhL

Notes from our Keynote speaker, Smithsonian Secretary Lonnie Bunch addressing events during the height of the #BlackLivesMatter protests: "This is a time when the Smithsonian is needed...we have to be involved...we need to be courageous...to give the public the tools they need, and be a trusted source of information...if we (museums) do our jobs right, we are defining reality and giving hope." @SmithsonianSec Lonnie Bunch #SocialJustice #MW21 @museweb @ariannagab https://t.co/popHrOIBay
