Now that the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 in Jeddah has come to an end, I’m taking a moment to reflect on this meaningful journey.

Curating the public programs for this historic event was both an honor and a deep responsibility, one I felt I owed to my community. To work under such a name, and to help shape how Islamic culture is shared and experienced, was a role I carried with humility. I truly hope I fulfilled it with grace.

This project changed the way I see Islamic arts. I was deeply touched by the diversity, depth, and beauty of Islamic culture as expressed through so many different voices. And I was equally moved by the incredible people I had the privilege to work with, collaborators who taught me so much and made this journey unforgettable.

Together, my team and I brought over 400 programs to life. But it was never just about the number. It was about the impact. The conversations, the reactions, the quiet moments of reflection, the joy of shared experience, those are what I’ll carry with me. It’s hard to put into words, but it was truly beautiful.

I feel so lucky and privileged to have had this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who walked this path with me. I’m endlessly grateful to each one of you.
