2016..

Throwback to the Mute Crew days and I had the privilege to lead the intro section of the piece.

Fun fact about me and dance.. I really only committed to the chorey scene to help push real krump in the choreography scene in Melbourne, Australia. At the time there was a lot of controversy and a lot of people criticising dance crews for just using krump in their sets, just taking stuff from the culture that we belonged and helped build. So instead of complaining and criticising, I trained, learned and aimed to be good so I could produce great quality KRUMP choreography and put it on stages like this alongside other key members in the crew that are also legitimate krumpers.

I didn’t come from the chorey scene.. I got brought up in krump by the OGs and I just continued on this legacy in my own way.

Inspired by fits from @billieeilish , I created some tees that were unapologetically loud, wild and experimental.

Formed in 2007 by director @nigidynak_ , Mute Crew invites members from all over the Melbourne dance community who train and specialise in a variety of styles, many whom continue to push and elevate these disciplines.

Playful placements of symbols and chaotic bleach dye outcomes; with this project I wanted to create pieces that reflected the crew’s diversity within a shared passion for that which is exhilarating yet vulnerable.

Create with an intrepid spirit!

Still contemplating whether to make more for preorders 😅, would yous want any? Lmk ❤️

Peace,
printXdiaries.
