The landscape of pain awareness in the training & behavior industry has changed dramatically. I know it doesn't always feel like it. But less than 5 years ago, Pain Awareness Month was basically unheard of in our corner of the internet. Now there's pain awareness education all day, every day, 365 days a year. That is because of you! There has been no systemic support for Pain Awareness in our industry. Many vets do not value our profession. The entire change of the landscape is because of your commitment to dogs & their humans. I'm so fucking proud of you! Tag your favorite pain aware behavior professionals below!! We love our dogs.    And sometimes part of being a good guardian means doing things that feel a little silly, because it makes our dogs’ lives better.    For some dogs, a stroller means they can still come along when walking the whole route is too much.    They can sniff the air, watch the world, spend time with their people, and be part of the outing without being pushed past what feels comfortable.    It does not have to replace movement.    It can be part walk, part ride.    A way to support comfort, enrichment, and connection when their body needs a little more help.    Because dogs with walking limitations still deserve fresh air, joy, and adventure.    And honestly? I don’t mind if my neighbors think I’m weird if “weird” means improving the lives of the pets in my care.

What a fantastic weekend filled with learning, fun, and furry friends! Thank you to all the incredible veterinary professionals who joined our workshop Cooperative Care Unleashed: Transforming Veterinary Visits. Your passion for improving patient experience is inspiring. Huge shoutout to our training team (looking at you, Janna, Christy and Chantal!) and Alecia @muttlifedogtraining for the expertise she shared with our participants. Alecia happens to be one of Sully’s favourite aunties and was very helpful to have through the weekend and the training lab on Sunday. Another big thank you to Nita at @drnita.sentientvet for sharing her knowledge and techniques during Sunday’s lab. Lunch from Zoetis hit the spot and kept us focused for our Saturday afternoon sessions! Thank you so much for the delicious food. And of course, we couldn’t have done it without our canine and feline assistants Sully, Marcus, Juni, and Sprout who allowed us to demonstrate what successful cooperative care looks like in real life.
