Today’s Wine Wednesday choice is this 2019 @ridgevineyards Pinot Noir from the Gali Vineyard in the Corralitos area of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. Ridge has tasting rooms and wineries in Healdsburg, Cupertino and Paso Robles with @shauna_rosenblum as the current winemaker. This shows a nose of strawberry, dried roses & mushroom with flavors of Santa Rosa plum, leather & violets. Welcome Buster from the @hotelnikkosf as proceeds of his sale go to @muttville, senior dog rescue. Cheers.

Today is the 3 month anniversary of our adoption of OjiroShika (fka VanGogh) from Muttville in San Francisco. His name means white-tailed deer in Japanese … he uses his extra long legs and leaps and bounds everywhere. He’s so graceful when he runs (hence his name) and yes, the tip of his always wagging tail is white. He has turned into a champion snuggler and is extremely fond of flinging and pouncing on toys. He has been respectful of 15 year old Chibi and they’ve been sleeping together since the first week. They follow each other around all day and Chibi, to my astonishment, has even joined in the toy play a bit and even an occasional chase game! He had been so depressed after we lost Curry so his reaction to Shika was everything I hoped for! We have discovered that Shika is deaf so Doug has taught him with hand signals to sit. Shika is a really nice dog … smart, extremely silly and just a joy to have around. Many thanks to everyone at @Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and his foster mom Monica for taking such good care of him and allowing us to adopt him!
