Happy end of summer, sort-of-fall release everyone. 🖤 Our newest Lights Off issue is here, featuring Bizarre Bar on the cover. For this month’s feature, we got to know owner Tim, the story behind Bizarre, and what the space means beyond the bar itself. Throughout the issue, you’ll find portraits of Tim and his bar manager alongside a look inside the place they’ve created. Also inside: Left on Read returns with another book review as we continue diving into our book club selections. This time, Big Little Lies. More photos from the Vegas underground: Your Arms Are My Cocoon’s sold-out show at The Grey Witch, alongside Rearranged in April, Imagine We Had Antlers, and Eye Might from September 4th. Keep up with events happening around Vegas this month, plus the next three events coming to Bizarre Bar through the rest of September and early October. A little end of summer, a little beginning of fall, and another piece of Vegas documented. As always, digital copies are FREE. Physical copies are $11 through MagCloud, before shipping and handling. Cover: Bizarre Bar / Tim Kam @bizarrebarlv @timjkam Photography: Jewel Fiorillo @jewelfphoto Journalist: Tiffany Lauren @tiffanylaurenlinens Location: Bizarre Bar, all around Happy release day. Go read the issue. 🖤

Artist Highlight! 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️ @mermaidislandband “Mermaid Island has been brewing chaos in the underground LA punk scene since fall of 2022. Founded by Canadian vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Alex MacDonald, the band quickly became known for their high-octane performances. Based on building and protecting the DIY community, Mermaid Island is about connecting with each other in real life, and creating more space for charged, purposeful aggression.“ Mermaid Island is rockin tomorrow night, Friday, July 24 at @reddwarf_lv along with @mutualhead & @purplecabband. Be there! Music starts at 9pm 21+ 📸: @antonsmedia
