The best way to have a great reception? Be part of the party. 🪩 Get on the dance floor. Laugh too loud. Pull your friends in. Let yourself be the center of attention for a little while. The couples who are fully immersed in their reception are always the ones who end up with the most fun, energetic photos. Ode to Blue Editorial🫐🦋🐋 Chic cutie seamstresses tipsy dancing, finding solace in the silence with no obligation to fill it, sculptural wows, and a gathering of people who have each taken their own free fall into the creative space that is weddings. Decompressive sigh. This means nothing-no attachment-apart from giving life to the arts, efforts, and beauties of the collaborators. We scaled many ladders for this, obsessing over the shapes and lines of blue drapery and speckled light. We practiced release over the sorting, hanging, & manipulation of crystal beads. How to get those iconic pre wedding getting ready photos that you have saved all over your inspo board: 1. Build time into your timeline for portraits before your wedding day outfit goes on. Don’t wait until you’re fully dressed to start photos. Some of the most editorial images happen while you’re still in pajamas, a silk robe, or even a little less. 2. Create moments, don’t just wait for them. Have a little list of things you’d love to do prior to your wedding day. Dance with your wedding party, pop champagne, order room service, play your favorite music, read your vows, or simply laugh together. The best photos come from intentional moments, not standing around waiting. 3. Finish hair and makeup early. If you want group photos before getting dressed, make sure everyone who will be in them is completely ready. Nothing kills the momentum like waiting on one more person. 4. Keep the room photo ready.
