What does it take to keep a bookstore on wheels alive? More than most people see. 🚐📚 Behind our 1997 lolita mobile bookstore @alegriapublishing are Don Julio’s mechanic magic, storage I pay for every month, and countless hours I give because I believe in this movement. 🚐📚 We’ve reached thousands across Los Angeles—at schools, events, and on the streets—helping emerging Latinx authors share their stories. 🚐📚 Seeing her this week, organized for 2027, reminded me why it’s worth it. 🚐📚 We’re still far from our goal. Help us keep these stories of love, unity, and possibility moving. Donate or share through the link in my bio. 🚐📚 And to everyone who has donated: you have no idea how much this means to us. Wherever you are, you’re making a beautiful difference and helping make the world a better place. ❤️ 🚐📚 Thank you, Marcelins Vasquez, Verónica Suárez, Tania Peregrino, Doralys Britto, Sandra Mora, Michael Chávez, Guilied Malouf, Sandra Ruiz, Reginald Bouzy, Lizy Madrigal, Ellie Hans, Tania Suárez, Claudia Shah, Rosario Aranda, Isabel Valencia, Denise Jill, Anastasia Lindsay, Karina Di Silva, Leslie Roman, Alejandra Acuña, Isla Martínez, and our three anonymous donors. 🚐📚 Thank you for believing in our bookstore, our authors, and the power of our stories. 📚❤️

Fox 11 did a story on the IDEAS Alumni Association and my story. A big shoutout to the amazing @araksyakarapetyan and the entire at team at Foxfor highlighting not only my journey, but the journey of so many hardworking immigrants, first-generation students, Dreamers, and families who have had to fight just a little bit harder to earn a seat at the table. About 14 years ago, Fox shared a piece about me when I was washing windows and working toward my education. Today, I’m grateful to be giving back to the same community through the IDEAS Alumni Association. My story is not just my own. It represents the sacrifices of our parents, the resilience of our communities, and the hope that education can open doors. I am deeply grateful to this country. We may go through our ups and downs as a nation, but there are very few places in the world where someone can come from another country, work hard, become educated, build a life, and still believe in the American Dream. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our students and our mission. Also shot out Street Smart Insurance Solutions the best insurance brokerage in the Nation possible the universe

I opened my poem IDEAS of Perseverance with this message for the students of Warren High School "Imagine a future lit up by everything you’ve told yourself you could be" Thank you @whsbears for hosting a scholarship fundraising event for @ideasalumniassociation on 4/17 This collaboration turned a high school library into a poetry night filled with music by @dusd_mariachi @warrenhighchoir and Warren High School Jazz Band which played throughout the entirety of the event. It was an honor to introduce poets such as @shimshona @sofiaxaguilar @davifalegria @aizt as colleagues and friends to an audience of students, parents, teachers, school district members, neighbors and Warren's staff. Thank you to Dr. Charlotte Achieng Evensen for sharing your poem and encouraging the students to highlight the power of storytelling. Thank you to the students who auditioned and made it an evening of incredible value by discussing topics such as cultural identity, friendship, family and socio-economic and environmental issues through bilingual poetry. What you are reading here and seeing in motion came to fruition because of the vision and intention of @mvasquezfunk who dreamed about bringing poetry to her high school kids and showcase their talent on stage along with published and award-winning authors. Thank you Instagram family for sharing this dream, attending the event and telling people about it. Mil gracias for helping us turn it into a wonderful memory for this community's heart. #NAPOWRIMO #poesíaforthepeople #poetatico #bilingualpoetry

We are proud to share that IDEAS Alumni Association is now officially a nonprofit! 🎉 We are incorporated with the State and registered as a 501(c)(3), allowing us to further our mission of supporting students in the pursuit of higher education. Our board is made up of leaders from underrepresented communities—college graduates, business owners, doctors, homeowners—each of us driven by passion, resilience, and a commitment to lifting others up. 💪📚 Despite the challenges we’ve faced, we have turned dreams into reality—and now, we want to pay it forward. We firmly believe that these students will reach their goals with or without us—but a little support can go a long way. 💙 If you believe in educational equity, in helping students break barriers, and in creating opportunities for future leaders, we invite you to DONATE today. Every dollar makes a difference. 🙌 📲 Follow our page @ideasalumniassociation #IDEASAlumni #Nonprofit #EducationForAll #FirstGenSuccess #DiversityInEducation #Dreamers #UndocumentedAndUnstoppable #Scholarships #PayItForward #SupportEducation #CommunityLeaders #HigherEducationMatters #InvestInDreams #Philanthropy #EducationIsPower #FundTheFuture
