This Sunday October 4, 2026- OCDC Hike-A-Thon 2026!!! Only Three More Days until our HikeAthon Fundraiser! Support Onyx at their 4th annual OCDC Hike-A-Thon FUNdraiser! Donations can be made to OCDC, an individual dancer, or in Chad Gibbon’s Honor! When donating please make sure to specify in the note section how you would like to allocate your sponsorship. Funds go towards the company’s upcoming Dance School Festival at The Grier School this November 2026 and a very special dancer named Layla Knight! Let’s hike together and get these dancers to Birmingham, PA! 🥾🧗❤️ This year OCDC is happy to announce that a portion of our HikeAthon proceeds will go towards honoring Layla in honor of Chad Alan Gibbons! Her spirit embodies so much of the legacy he left behind! Layla is a dancer with the Dance Expressions Dance Team in Vandalia, Ohio! In May of 2025 Layla was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, specifically a nephorblastoma (kidney tumor) that had spread to her lymph nodes and lungs. After undergoing multiple surgeries, 11 cycles of intense chemotherapy, 8 rounds of abdominal radiation, and 7 rounds of radiation to her lung Layla was able to return to school and danced in her first dance competition in February 2026! Layla continued to dance throughout her treatments, there was no stopping her! She is monitored heavily and her latest scans showed no new growth along with a decrease in size of two lung nodules! Dance and the friendships Layla has made along the way have helped her continue to build strength and inspire so many people with her story! Dance has been a true blessing for her and she is grateful for her Dance Expression Dance Family! Registration is FREE! Contact Email: ocdchikeathon@gmail.com 🧐 🔎 OCDC Hike-a-thon CHECK IN TIME IS 12:45 PM at the entrance of Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve! 😃Hiking will begin promptly at 1:00 PM! OCDC Alumni Spotlight! Check out what OCDC Alum Keilani Reynolds has to say about her new dance adventure in NYC! Update: Wrapping up my second full week here at IAP = The Independent Artist Program at Steps On Broadway! Here I’m required to take 12 classes a week. I take 5 ballet, 3 Precision Jazz, 1 Theater Jazz, 1 Tap, 1 Contemporary and 1 Hiphop. They offer so much more but this is what I’m sticking with so far. I am allowed to change and move around my schedule/styles when I need or want to. I’ve been enjoying my time learning from new teachers and new perspectives. Each class I find something to work on and challenge myself with. The feeling of being in a packed room full of other dancers and able to work on dance fully is amazing and I’m so thankful to be here. I am forever grateful to my parents and family for their incredible support and unwavering commitment to my dance adventures and dreams! Thank you @mvdc_ohio and @onyxcontemporarydancecompany for all of the love and training that helped prepare me for my new adventure! #ocdcdance🖤#dance#precisionjazz #ohiotonyc#followyourheart Precision Jazz with @mindyyohoho Contemporary with @michaela_catherine
