🎓𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒕𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕: #136, Margie “Narhálene” Stricklin Class: Spring 2024, Alpha Kappa Class Major: Neuroscience w/ a minor in WGSS ✧ Future plans: I am furthering my education at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor as a PhD student. I will be researching how early life adversity impacts changes in gene expression in different areas of the brain. ✧ A piece of advice you wanna share/something you learned from your undergrad/postgrad journey: Always have a non-negotiable/something you refuse to give up. It can be something small like having an hour of self care every night. My non-negotiable was going to the gym and weightlifting every morning. It helps to have that hour or two of self-love everyday. :) ✧ A little message from the Active House🦋: “Hello Sister Narhálene! Words cannot describe how truly proud we all are of you! We are so grateful to have such a smart, kind, and strong (physically and mentally!) sister in our Everlasting Sisterhood. You have represented our sorority by showing women and girls that they hold so much potential, and that they too, can change the world, just like you are now. Even though you are Michigan-bound, just know that we will always be rooting for you here back at home🤍”
