Parents and kids, we need your help! Wellon Bridgers is headed to Congo in two weeks and is packing her bags full of toys and creative supplies for the kids at Mwana Villages. Clear out your gently used toys to pack our bags with things like craft materials, outdoor toys, building blocks, legos, kitchen play toys, jewelry making supplies, modeling clay and more! Nothing oversized! Bring to the church July 6 or July 13th, or text Wellon for pickup!

Meet 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻 | Executive Director, Mwana Villages. Wellon serves as the U.S. Director for Mwana Villages and part of the global leadership team. Having walked through an unethical adoption experience only to find that a vulnerable family had been exploited, Wellon and Stephen’s eyes were opened to the challenges of the orphan crisis. Their love and admiration for Mwana was centered on how the organization cares passionately for vulnerable women and works to keep families together. Together, they co-founded Mwana Villages, U.S. to expand the work of the ministry. Wellon has a background in education, service leadership and volunteer programs. Fun facts: She is a professional artist! She paints large scale landscapes and is represented in galleries across the country. Also, she is a hermit at heart! While she loves sharing with people all about Mwana, she’s happiest tucked inside her home overlooking the river and surrounded by trees.

GIVING TUESDAY ✨💙 This year Dogwood Hill had a unique opportunity to partner with Children’s of Alabama on a holiday card collection called Light the Way, featuring art created by @abbylittlejessup with the help of two Children’s patients. Each purchase of the collection helps light the way for children and families in the hospital during the holidays and throughout the entire year, with a portion of every sale going to @childrensofal.

We proudly support several organizations that work to meet the needs of women and children in our local community and beyond. It’s our pleasure to highlight them on the next slide, and we hope you will consider donating your time or money to these wonderful organizations on this Giving Tuesday.💙
