Dead to the old, alive in Christ. ✝️

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Grateful for this new beginning and for the people God has placed in my life.

All glory to Him. 🙏

On 21 August 2025, PLAQ held its very first Meet the Profession event at Clayton Utz — and it was electric.

About 50 law students, high schoolers, graduates, practicing lawyers and community came together to hear from an incredible panel of lawyers including the Hon. Magistrate Veena Goverdhan, who shared stories of perseverence, truth, encouragement and vision for Pasifika people in law.

This was more than a conversation or talanoa. It was a movement for community, representation and belonging in the profession.

The future is bright — watch this space.

Thank you to our panelists and speakers, our hosts Clayton Utz for sponsoring and providing a space for us, but especially everyone who attended and made the night a wonderful experience.

Even though it's been almost two weeks since the inaugural Culture & Law Moot, we are still feeling the positive vibes from this event. It was a joy to collaborate with the Magistracy, the @aala_org Qld Chapter, the Queensland African Lawyers Network and the @pasifikalawyersqld to bring this event to life. One of the long term aims of our podcast was not just to spark conversation and cultural change through our podcast conversations, but through initiatives such as these moots.

We were therefore really honoured to not just be part of the working group behind this project (alongside Hon Magistrate Dzenita Balic, and Linda Cho who you will recognise as two of our podcast guests), we were proud to co-sponsor this event with the @qldlawsociety and @lacunaprofessionalsolutions 🥳 we look forward to seeing this event come back in future! Thank you to our eminent Honourable judges who took time to be our inaugural judging panel and congratulations to our mooters who did an amazing job! See link to Proctor article in bio.
