Big shoutout to all the folks who have been stopping by KAZI recently! We had Heather Jefts, who is on Cedar Park City Council and is running for Williamson County Judge. The ladies from Park Springs Cemetery, a historic Black cemetery in Manor Texas, who came thru to talk about their cleanups the second Saturday of every month. Big ups to Constance White who told us about her journey as a visual artist and becoming head of Austin Bergstrom International Airport’s public art program! We also had author John Harris and musician Eric and B Valentine come kick it with us.

We had political folks like Lloyd Doggett stop by, along with candidates currently running for US Congress like father and son duo Justin and Matthias Early! We also talked to Austin City Council candidates like Misael Ramos and Rich Heyman pull up!

We’re hearing all about the FIFA World Cup in 2026, but did you know about the Cricket World Cup co-hosted by the U.S. for the first time in 2024? That one of the matches was in Texas? Or that cricket will be played for the first time in the LA Olympics in 2028? ⚽️🏏

🎥Unless you’re a cricket fanatic, probably not. That’s why our short film, Howzat Houston, is bringing the $5B cricket sport to mainstream American audiences.

🎙️Our Director Devon Foster & producer Shuja Uddin shared went on KAZI 88.7 FM @kazifm88.7 an Austin based radio station to chat with @mykel42 about our film’s story: an Afghan teenage girl chasing her dream of playing cricket in Houston, TX despite all odds and obstacles.

🎮”FIFA got popular because of video games, maybe we need a cricket video game?”

Shout out to @trillpaki for putting this together!
