The 2025-2026 “Live Like Micah” Foundation scholarship season has begun!

The Micah Pietila-Wiggs “Live Like Micah” Foundation serves to carry on Micah Pietila-Wiggs’ (Eastlake c/o 2018) legacy by recognizing and supporting high school seniors who embody the same qualities that made Micah who he was. These students make a positive impact in every setting, whether it be in the classroom, at lunch, at practice, or in their community.

The “Live Like Micah” Scholarship will recognize 12th grade students in the Sweetwater Union High School District who are inclusive, authentic, and kindhearted— not because they are earning credit or community service hours— but because they consistently want to bring joy to those around them, the way Micah did.

Micah always worked hard to build his skills, whether he was in the classroom or on the field or with his team. Recipients of this award will receive a scholarship award to be used for their continuing education after high school graduation.

This scholarship season, the Micah Pietila-Wiggs “LLM” Foundation will be awarding five $1500 scholarships, one senior at each of the following campuses: Eastlake High School, Bonita Vista High School, Otay Ranch High School, Hilltop High School, and Chula Vista High School. Our goal is to reach all 13 high schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District, addding one high school a year!

If you would like to donate or sponsor a scholarship at a particular school, please send an email to steven.wiggs@mpwllmfoundation.org, or go to the LLM Foundation’s website at www.mpwllmfoundation.org.

Carpe Diem,
The Micah Pietila-Wiggs LLM Foundation
