*Why Should You Be a Delegate at GENMUN?

GENMUN brings together passionate students to step into the shoes of global diplomats, debate pressing international issues, and build future-ready skills. Here is a look at why students choose to take part in GenMUN:

*Key Reasons Students Participate in GENMUN

1.Public Speaking & Confidence: Delegates stand up in front of their committees to deliver speeches, pitch ideas, and think on their feet, transforming stage fright into powerful communication skills.

2.Research & Analytical Writing: Participants dive deep into global issues, study their assigned country's specific foreign policy, and write formal position papers and collaborative resolutions.

3.Negotiation & Diplomacy: Success in GenMUN requires building alliances, bridging political divides, and negotiating compromises with fellow delegates to solve complex geopolitical crises.

4.Global Awareness: The experience opens minds to diverse cultural perspectives, international relations, global economics, and real-world human rights challenges.

5.Academic & Career Growth: Participating in competitive simulations stands out on college and university applications, showcasing leadership, teamwork, and strong critical thinking.

6.Networking & Lifelong Friendships: Conferences connect like-minded peers from different backgrounds, schools, and regions, creating an energetic community and lasting professional ties.

🍦❤️Chocolate & Vanilla. Together forever❤️🍫

The 65 y/o concierge pointed his cane at us and said: « Nathalie and Noemi, chocolate and vanilla, curly heads, room 202. Doors close at 10 PM. 10:01? You’re sleeping outside. No fighting, but 100% you’ll get along. Also, there’s no hot water this week. Good luck » We looked at each other in confusion for about five seconds before absolutely bursting out laughing.

We were born on the same day, both our names start with N, and we both had Hello Kitty charms on our bags. On our first supermercado trip, we picked up the same items: grapes, cheese, pickles, pains au lait and Milka Oreo White.

52 bars/ clubs, **accidentally** walking into a strip club, running for our lives from that Uber driver at 4 AM, escaping two arranged marriages, exploring Portugal’s villages, making the most ridiculous memories, stealing a parking sign and breaking it in half… is what turned this internship into a friendship.

We each kept half of that parking sign, promising to glue it back together when we finally move into our beach house together. A reminder that no matter how far apart life takes us, we’ll always find our way back to each other.

Years ago, I promised my mom I would never call anyone else my sister. I was done with drama and the heartbreak. But then I met the girl that understands me before I can even explain what I’m feeling, and somehow, I’m the person who understands her before she even find the words herself.

We weren’t looking for each other, but somehow, we found exactly who we needed. My dilemin❤️🔐

Who gets to speak for us?

Representation without meaningful participation can leave the people most affected outside the decisions that shape their lives.

At ENRMSC, we believe lived experience must have a voice, a seat, and real influence.
