🚨 Introducing Dr. John M. Sands, MD, DDS, the newest addition to our Berks Oral Surgery team!

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Sands to #BOS! A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he brings an exceptional depth of expertise, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to making a difference both in and beyond the operating room.

— An impressive academic and surgical background: Dr. Sands graduated with highest honors from Montana State University before earning his dental degree from the University of the Pacific and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

— Specialized surgical expertise: His clinical interests include TMJ surgery, including minimally invasive arthroscopy and custom total joint replacement, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, obstructive sleep apnea, and dental implants.

— A leader in the profession: Dr. Sands is the founder and CEO of AROMS (Advancing Resources of OMS), the first comprehensive digital education platform dedicated to oral and maxillofacial surgery, now reaching nearly 10,000 clinicians across more than 75 countries. He also lectures nationally and internationally, sharing his expertise with the next generation of surgeons and leaders in the field.

— A heart for humanitarian care: Through his work as Team Lead for the Ukraine Division of LEAP Global Missions, Dr. Sands helps advance reconstructive surgery, cleft and craniofacial care, and trauma education. His dedication to this work recently earned him the AAOMS National Humanitarian Award—an extraordinary honor and a reflection of his commitment to helping others!!

And when he’s not caring for patients or advancing the profession, Dr. Sands enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife, Abby, their children, Jude and Quinn, and their German Shepherd, Willow.

Dr. Sands, welcome to the BOS family! We’re excited to have you on our team and look forward to all that we’ll accomplish together! 🧡

Join us in giving Dr. Sands a warm welcome!

A great show and an even better start to the fall season.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Seattle for AAOMS 2026. Whether you explored a product, placed a Pro Zygoma implant through a hands-on demonstration or simply stopped by to hear what’s coming down the pipeline, we appreciated every conversation.

We have a busy calendar ahead, and we look forward to spending more time with clinicians at meetings and educational events across the country this fall. What will you be attending?

🇺🇸 An unforgettable moment at AAOMS 2026 in Seattle.

It was a true honor to share the stage and speak in the same scientific session as Professor Michael Turner, from Mount Sinai, at one of the most important meetings in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery worldwide.

Presenting our work at AAOMS and exchanging knowledge alongside internationally recognized colleagues represents much more than a lecture — it reflects years of dedication, research, innovation, and commitment to advancing facial surgery.

Grateful for this remarkable experience, for the exchange of knowledge, and for the connections that continue to bring Brazilian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to the international stage.

Thank you, Professor Michael Turner, for the inspiring scientific exchange.

We were especially proud to see Dr. Nicolaievsky take the stage during the Industry Symposium and share his clinical expertise with the AAOMS community. Seeing an X-Guider educating other clinicians and advancing the conversation around dynamic navigation is exactly the kind of moment we love to support.

Off the stage, the conversations have been just as valuable. We caught up with X-Guiders including Dr. Tania Nkungula, who was first in line for an autographed copy of Dr. Nicolaievsky’s book.

And we loved having Dr. Pedro Franco at our booth, talking X-Guide and dynamic navigation with Dr. Robert Emery. When experienced clinicians get together around the X-Guide, there’s never a shortage of conversation.

Our team has been doing what we enjoy most: talking with clinicians, answering questions, demonstrating X-Guide, and connecting with both current and future X-Guiders.

Great technology brings people to the booth. Great conversations are what make the meeting memorable.

If you’re at AAOMS, come see us at Booth #221.

LightScalpel is exhibiting at the 108th AAOMS Annual Meeting in Seattle. Stop by Booth 426 to see our CO2 laser in action and talk with our team about applications in oral and facial surgery, from intraoral soft-tissue procedures to blepharoplasty and facial skin lesion excision. The flexible fiber waveguide reaches the posterior oral cavity and works just as easily on the face.

Free educational materials available at the booth.
