Meet Myracle Murrell, DREAMS Class of 2016.

Myracle’s story is especially meaningful because TOPPS has been a part of her life for nearly a decade. From growing through programs like Changing Steps to becoming a DREAMS scholar, she experienced firsthand the impact of having consistent support, guidance, and people invested in her future.

Today, Myracle is a Behavioral and Mental Health Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and her Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

And now, her journey has come full circle.

Through her work, Myracle has connected families she serves back to TOPPS as a resource. She has also become a resource for current DREAMS students who may need guidance or assistance related to social work and mental health services.

From being supported by TOPPS to now helping connect others to that same support, Myracle represents exactly what we hope DREAMS becomes for every scholar:

A foundation. A community. And eventually, an opportunity to give back.

We are proud of the professional, advocate, and resource she continues to be for families and for the next generation of DREAMS scholars.

We are BLACK WOMEN!.....We build...We don't tear down other BLACK WOMEN ....We have felt the pain of being torn down and not being heard! We have been carrying our hurt and hiding it to be label the strong black women. We have been called loud, ghetto, agressive , and angry. WE ARE MUCH MORE If I didn't tag you please don't be offended. I tried go pick people I thought would do this challenge!! All to often, we women find it easier to criticize eachother, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let's do something positive!!🌟up load a picture of yourself... Shout out to Myracle for being the FIRST returner to apply for #WedikoSummer2020. Myracle sent in her application on November 15, 2019!
Here’s what she said about her decision to return, “I made my decision to return to Wediko thinking about a moment of me crying and taking space last summer because I was having such a difficult time with my boys this particular day. After I came home and thought about it more, I realized it would only be right for me to return this upcoming summer to continue the work I love so much. I learned so much from Wediko and it has helped me grow as a person. I loved the way Wediko made kids feel, like it was ok to express your feelings and get it out in a way that helps others understand you. The 45 day program was therapeutic for the kids and also for me. Before coming to Wediko, I always thought working in mental health wasn’t something I wanted to do with my social work degree. Witnessing how I could impact a child’s life in a major way was so unbelievable to me and changed my perspective. My views on my career and my future were changed in a good way. I have Wediko to thank for that.”
