🎭 CHICAGO – RUHM AUF KOSTEN DER WAHRHEIT: Ein Mord. Zwei Frauen.
・・・
・・・
・・・
・・・
・・・
・・・

CHICAGO! ✨

The @volksoper is a house that always leaves you surprised. Between shows of Die Zauberflöte and after making the world premiere of Ronja just a few weeks ago, came a surprise jump-in to musically direct the premiere of Chicago! Another completely different style, but wow - such good music! ❤️

We have an unbelievably amazing Cast, Ensemble, Chorus and Ballet. All played with our incredible and most versatile Orchestra, in this haunting and jazzy production by @beerlottede 🥹

Our Premiere is this Saturday! Shows all through to January, come and see it!

I betcha you would have done the same!

“Und? Wie fandest du’s? Come on Roxie, you can tell!”…

I can’t do it alone!

“Then she’d…

…then I’d!”

But I simply cannot do it alone!

Being gagged is part of my daily routine 😂♥️🙌🏽

A luxury to sing with @myrthesmonteiro, who pours her heart out on the stage every single show ❤️ Starting from rehearsals, I knew this scene would be the one to tear me to shreds every time.

We played our last show yesterday, and I’m both so grateful to have done it and devastated that we won’t do it every night for the rest of our lives forever 💔

This beautiful video will always serve as a memory, thank you to friends who took this and others from the side stage for me to have as keepsakes!

Also, doesn’t our orchestra sound FAB??? @lorenz.c.aichner

A few days ago, I had my last West Side Story — for a while. ❤️

Saying goodbye to a role, for me, feels like saying goodbye to a dear friend. Someone who has become a part of you. Someone you know you’ll miss.

And that day, I cried on and off stage.

Because this journey has been such a special one.

Shortly after our premiere, I found out I was pregnant. I had to miss many shows, and after having my baby, I missed another season. And then, finally, I came back.

And everyone made me feel as if I had never been gone. ❤️

Saying goodbye to a role also means saying goodbye to a chapter, to moments you’ll never experience in quite the same way again, and to colleagues who have become friends.

Even if Maria comes back one day, who knows where life will have taken me by then?

Maria has always been one of my dream roles. I gave her my whole heart, every single night. Never marking a sentence, a note, or a moment.

Because when I was on stage, I was her. And she was me. What she felt, I felt.

Thank you, Maria, for making me grow. For everything you taught me and everything you made me feel.

And one thing this goodbye reminded me of: We all experience endings differently. Some are happy, some are sad, and some, like me, are terribly sentimental.

And that’s okay.

Every feeling has its place. Every feeling deserves to be felt.

So cry if you need to. Be sentimental. Feel deeply. Even if others don’t quite understand.

Because that’s part of being human. ❤️

Goodbye for now, Maria. Thank you for letting me be you. 🥹 and Thank you @beerlottede for trusting me with this role and for giving me this opportunity 🧡
