Let’s chat about the Taboo of sharing breast milk. 🍼 I wonder when something so normal has been looked down upon or even called disgusting from men and even women.

Now I get it, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I wonder if many know how this has saved so many babies and have helped so many mothers around the world.

Quick history fact, black/african american mothers used to be forced to neglect their own babies and feed the babies of their slave masters. In other countries, sharing the responsibility of feeding the babies when women in the village have children together is considered normal.

Me personally, breast feeding put me through a deep depression. I felt I no longer had my own body. After 9 months of carrying and hours of labor and pain, for months I never felt my body was mine. So I began pumping less and lost my supply. This made me even more depressed because I still tried to pump with barely anything coming out. The day I stopped pumping and latching was one of the most freeing days for ME during this motherhood process. I was just scared the Sage would no longer get the nutrients & antibodies that come with breast milk compared to formula.

The more I educated myself on donors milk (Sages 1st bottle out the wound was donor) the more I saw that I still had options. Luckily, 2 mommie I know have recently had a baby as well and have been able to donate milk to me from time to time. Motherhood may feel ghetto from time to time LOL but it’s the BEST hood ever! Mommy tribes are so necessary and so amazing.

So mommies, if you are able and willing, look into donating milk if it’s something you’d be interested in. It has been such a blessing to me 🥰 @babybulletblender
