Ben caught this big redfish yesterday afternoon and was thrilled beyond belief. Thankful for people like him to keep me passionate about my job!

Day 7 – Part 3: Running has brought friends into my life that I would have never met otherwise.

I’ve talked about how lonely the infertility journey can be. It can be lonely in a room full of people. Being in a room full of moms can be tremendously overwhelming and depressing as a non-mother. Especially for that woman sitting there wondering if this month is the month that she will get pregnant; wondering when it will be her turn for a baby shower. Wondering if she’ll ever get to post an ultrasound pic or share a gender-reveal video. Lonely in a world full of moms.

Being a couple in a sea of parents is also lonely. Couples without children just want to gather and talk about their fur kids with other fur parents 😂Running is how I met other women my age without children, how we met other couples without children. In addition, finding @oiselle and the Volée is how I met the most diverse group of women all over the country. Running gave me a very supportive community where I feel like I belong.

Throwing it waaaay back in our early run days with the last pic @sbranch19 & @nicplenge without his beard! When Suzanne and I thought we’d finished the Rose City 10k and forgot about the .2 🤣 Also, when a friend of ours was still a runner 😉 still miss running with you Dan!

One of the best things about running is the friendships that it can build. Missing a few faces here with our 5:30a group this morning but it was the last run with Kate, who will be moving to Illinois. Best wishes Kate! You’ll be missed and please keep in touch!

We FINALLY emptied out one of our storage sheds today. Going through it all, I came across some awesome stuff I hadn’t seen in a long time. One of the coolest and most memorable experiences I have of my time at #ShapeAmericanHighSchool, was being on the Cheerleading team for two years. What started off as a... semi-jokingly - “I would try out for the team if you let boys join” comment, turned into an Award of Excellence Winner (Best Squad in Europe!), other multiple team awards and even an NCA All American Finalist award for myself.
Challenging myself to do something that completely took me out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to be the best I could be while doing it, is something I’ll never forget. The lifetime friends I made during that time, that I might not have made otherwise, is something that can never be taken away. ❤️ Plus, I was probably the only guy I know to go from the Cheerleading team in the Fall to the Wrestling team 🤼‍♀️🤼‍♀️ in the Winter. 🤣🤣🤣 (Please add or tag yourself if we are not following each other on IG)

On yesterday's #podcastepisode of #fearlessfreedomwithdrg, Dr. Christopher Loo shared how he walked away from a career in #orthopedics to pursue his passions of being a physician entrepreneur, investor, and tech advisor.

He went against what was "expected" of him to find a place where he thrived.

Monday, Monday!!!! Hope everyone has had a great start of the week!!! Today, was a steady, easy, recovery run!!! 🏃‍♀️Was able to meet up with 2 running friends 🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️after work (one pictured, and the other taking the picture... should have thought to take a selfie of the 3 of us.... next time!). We were able to knock 👊out 5 miles with average pace 10:32 with mile splits: 11:24, 10:36, 10:55, 9:56, 9:47. We decided to run downtown Valdosta to be able to view the Christmas lights🎄!!! I love running this time of year.... the lights all seem magical and calming. And, weather was perfect!!!! Yes, we are wearing shorts in December in South Georgia!!! But, in 2 days, it will be in the 30-40 range! Brrrrrr!!! 🥶 tomorrow is strength/core work... did you run today? Wearing shorts in your neck of the woods? More soon! Xo 😘
