In the world of art, mirrors and doors act as a liminal space. They evoke the sense of transition and beckon the viewer to move closer and look deeper. They provide the viewer with the freedom to imagine a world beyond the painted surface.

Mirrors and doors appear across these works in #MCOYA23 as the artists explore what it means to “look”. Who or what do we see? What can we find by taking a step forward and visualizing our own prescence in the artist’s crafted world? If we turn our head, who stands beyond the door?

Art triggers the reflection upon our physical presence in the world; who we are, how we appear to be, and who is watching.

The Self-portrait!

Always a challenging project for the senior visual arts class to create an inspired and creative self-portrait exemplifying themselves.

The portrait assignment provides students the opportunity to tackle various compositional approaches and utilize different mediums to bring that portrait to life.

These will be on my exhibition in February as part of the annual art collection by the senior graduating visual arts class.

Final Grade 11 CPT's.

The seniors were given the task of creating a triptych for the final CPT. They had full artistic control of theme, scale and material. Most freedom students have ever had approaching a major project.

**Configuration of the final pieces are not as shown. They have been altered for this post.**
