Life Is Short So Let’s Enjoy It As Much As We Can ✈️🛳️ In A Healthy Way 🏋🏾‍♀️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I struggled with posting this one.

I don’t know if it was because I’m showing a side of myself that I don’t usually show, or because I started thinking about how people might view me, good or bad.

Or maybe it was going through these pictures & having the memories come back. Not just the pictures themselves, but what happened before them, after them & sometimes years down the line.

Some of the people in these pictures aren’t here anymore. Some are behind the wall. Some went down completely different paths.

Either way, my spirit told me to post this after Sister @maryissocontrary referenced me showing more of my past life on yesterday’s post.

Now, I’ll never say I was the roughest or toughest from my area & I’m damn sure not coming on here to glorify the past.

But one thing for sure, two things for certain… my past made me who I am today.

Where I come from, we stood on business. Principles. Morals. Loyalty. And while I’ve grown, evolved & learned a whole lot since then, those experiences gave me something I couldn’t have gotten from a classroom.

They made me relevant to the community work I’m doing today. Whether that’s through @thefoundersunion , @thecollextivegroup or simply sitting across from a young person or adult who needs somebody that can actually relate.

The ability to connect with the people I serve at a higher level comes from some of the memories behind these pictures. I understand the environment. The pressure. The pain. The choices. The consequences. And what it takes to become something different without forgetting where you came from.

So when I say I’m qualified, I know I’m qualified through & through.

I’m grateful for my journey. I wouldn’t change it for the world because every ingredient helped make me who I am today & I know those same ingredients are more than enough to continue carrying me where I’m supposed to go.

If I can make it from my environment, so can you.

God bless the ones who are gone & free the ones behind the wall. A lot of the work I do today is in dedication to you
🙏🏾🖤🌱

Hey QUEENS,

TONIGHT at 7 PM, in person ONLY at @adbeauty_hair. Invite a friend.

Tonight is our last meeting of the year and we are planning, organizing and implementing into 2022.

Visions don't work unless you do! Have you ever felt so uncomfortable that you knew you needed to reposition? Often times repositioning occurs after we feel something - aches, pains, numbness, stagnation, depression, etc. These are signs of life's roadblocks, our self doubt or other adversities we allow to get in the way of our dreams/goals.

Are you ready to breakthrough every door and go around the roadblocks? If your answer is YES then join us for the "Whose Vision Are You Living Annual #VisionBoard Workshop". Vision Boards are the blue print to your goals. They help manifest your vision thru planning, organizing and implementing. Vision Boards help you see the need to reposition was always present but you ignored it until your mind, body and bank account DEMANDED something different.

Why is it that we wait until something drastic happens to shift when we know life requires it? You know its been time to surrender and reposition, yet you've allowed something to keep you sitting...WHY?!?! In this workshop you will be provide the tools, encouragement, advice and some life experiences to help you get up and MOVE!!

Register for this event, via Eventbrite.

The reward of serving others is invaluable and so fulfilling.

Our 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Drive was a success thanks to so many of you!

Thank you to all the businesses that donated money, food or other products, thank you to those who donated their time to cook, pack the food trays or came out to be with us this morning to help us give back to those in the community to create lasting connections. The stories people shared were so touching. So many families are displaced and needed this. AND, they were just so thankful that we showed up when we didn’t have to. The community appreciates you and so do we!
