Words cannot describe how lucky I feel to have been a group facilitator for these Young Leaders. Jonah, Zoe, Sonja, Addy, Saee, Jayda, Noah, Malik, and last but certainly not least, Stefano, each of you are such wonderful human beings already, I cannot even begin to imagine the positive impact you all will make on the world as you continue to “become” your future selves and continue to expand your leadership skills. Each person brought something unique to our group and the combination of your personalities felt like a 5 star restaurant recipe for a great MYLead conference.

I’m writing a separate post for these Young Leaders because each of these individuals showed up to MYLead, a totally new and sometimes overwhelming-at-first environment, and immediately made a commitment to themselves and each other that they would do everything they could to make the most of the three days we had together.

They all knew that this opportunity to learn and grow and make friends was valuable yet fleeting, and they ran with that opportunity more than I have ever seen a full group do so in my 9 years of volunteering.

They cheered their hearts out, they extended kindness and care to one another, they stepped outside of their comfort zones, and they made an impact on the conference and on each other.

I am so impressed and proud of each and every one of them. And am crossing my fingers that they choose to come back as volunteers!!!

Also a special shout-out to my co-volunteer and CA, Rita, who was an incredible partner and planner, and from the very first moment of being paired together was working hard with me to figure out how to make as positive of a conference experience for our YL’s as possible.

My heart is overflowing with love and happiness after getting to spend the weekend with y’all, and I truly hope we meet again one day.
