dear basketball,

I didn’t know that this orange ball would be my safe space, my motivation, my identity and my greatest teacher. You have been there for every version of me, first learning, playing varsity, signing my letter of intent, and transferring out of JUCO and starting all over. You’ve taught me discipline, resilience, confidence, and how to lead. There were long practices, bus rides, injuries, many many tears, wins that felt like everything and losses that hit hard. All of my coaches, my teammates and my amazing family, Stood by me and believed in me since day one. Constantly cheering me on whether it was in person or on a screen, good game or bad game they were proud. I never thought I would be playing in college let alone accomplishing the things I did. It hurts to close this chapter, but I will forever be grateful for this orange ball and how much it changed my life.
