Busy first week for the Presidents! 4 practices in and we we took on 4 different venues. From working out on our XC Course to getting on some local trails for workouts and easy runs. In the middle of all of that, we were able to unwind with a little team bonding where the winning team set the Escape Room record!

Highlight of the week….Stopping by a kids lemonade stand on our way out of practice to get a nice cold drink before we headed back to campus! A special quick moment shared by all who were involved!

Throughout the past 4 years I’ve learned that I will never be satisfied. No matter the outcome I always strive for more. I strive for that hundredth of a second, for my form to be a tad bit better, or even to be a better leader. This season was the toughest one I’ve had yet. Not running at the standard I had set for myself all year was a constant mental battle. Regardless, I am more than thankful for the opportunities and relationships Hopewell Track and Field has given me. The teams that I have been apart of the last 4 years have truly changed my life. Being able to run for Coach Brunton, train and have fun with all my sprint teammates and 400m partner, I’ll never have a team like I did at Hopewell. To my relay teammates throughout the years, thank you for teaching me how to lead and work together as a unit. High school track has helped me reach out to so many different people from so many different schools and I’ve formed so many amazing relationships. There are people from other schools like DJ and B Noel that I consider my forever teammates without ever being on the same team. It’s been an amazing ride, 6x WPIAL Medalist, 2 outdoor and 1 indoor school records, 3x Section Champ, Beaver County 2024 MVP, apart of the first boys team WPIAL Championship Appearance in school history. Again, this is not the way I wanted to go out, but God has a plan. God wants to keep me hungry.

The Presidents saw several PRs last week at Slippery Rock! Looking to build on those performances this week as the squad is split with a small group heading to one of the biggest meets in the country at Bucknell University while most of the team will be heading to Westminster to compete in a very competitive invitational stacked with several teams from the region!

Special shout out to Nico Flitcraft and Deucie Karamcheti for receiving the best dressed award. Also a HUGE THANK YOU to our Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Lindsey Llewellyn for being our special judge last night.
