POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some of the work has gone to homes but there is plenty left to see this last week!

Sign of the Times features 15 local and regional artists. Artists were invited to submit work which reflects current events, social issues, and topics that are on their minds. Much of the work is obviously political, protest art and social justice oriented but also AI, feminism, and environmental sustainability are tackled in some of the work. We’ve got everything from photo collage, cyanotype, letterpress and block printing, painting, mixed media to fiber art! Come support!

Here is what we were up to in Pittsburgh on our day off!! Big thanks to Dan @cwpress for the warm welcome and tour of their great space with a hands on printing demo! Got to see a bit of the city and drink some good coffee—even snagged some good vintage. See yinz next time!

Ten years of Destructo Disk. I can’t remember the actual date we had our first practice, it was towards the end of May 2015, but we just finished our anniversary tour and it was awesome. Thanks for coming out and making every show feel so special. It was wonderful seeing so many friends and familiar faces singing and dancing every night. Being in a band is a special thing that we don’t take for granted. Thank you to @elyzareinhart and everyone else who documented show photos/videos bc we are bad at that bc we were having so much fun. We played different sets every night and rocked a lot of crazy out of town bills. @dogd8 made me shed my skin in new york city. that’s a real rock band. The hometown show was also insane. Thank you to @hopscotchcoffeeandrecords for jumping through hoops to make that all happen. 140 people at the coffee shop we played our first show back in June 2015, then we went to our waffle house afterwards and they coincidentally had a “Happy Anniversary” sign that we may or may not have taken. Special thanks to our OG drummer @microdinkie for doing this special tour with us, and thank you to @knowcomply for holding it down on all the new shit. The next music we write is going to be our best music (again!!!). Thank you to all the bands that played with us, do not sleep on @thismanmaydierva they are going to stay surprising you. @deathcat222 @tentativedecisionsband @mikiemayo.phl @swervesband @brandishpa @balaclava_is_a_band @pons_worldwide @nylon__band @shagwuf @trapphillcollision @youngersisterband @burdenslanding.mp3 thank you all for making this tour so memorable for us. Cant wait for the next one!!!! 💚🧡🩷❤️‍🔥

UPCOMING SHOWS (this is it!):

6/20 - RICHMOND, VA - at @anotherroundrva w/ @jer.band & @madisonturnerofficial

P.S. We basically sold out of our tour shirts :) but we have 40 of our special CDs left, if there are any after these 2 shows we’ll put them online or maybe make more if there’s high enough demand ! Ticket links for both of our upcoming shows IN BIO, and ALSO pre order our new vinyl “Kelly Green & Friends.”

Happy to announce that our longtime bud Paul Young will be joining us on guitar and vocals at our show on Tuesday night at 123 Pleasant St. w/ Sarah Shook & The Disarmers!

Paul played on Tucker’s first ever solo EP (photo evidence courtesy of Nate Rhodes at Chester Records), so it’s a nice little blast from the past to include him at our upcoming Morgantown shows to help make them a bit more special.

Fun fact: the only other time The Cheap Dates played a show with a second guitarist was our very first show, when Ben from pals Dogwood Tales joined us when we opened for Lost Dog Street Band at The Golden Pony.

ALSO — we’ll have these stunning new shirts courtesy of Flesh & Blood Print Shop, Naloxone, tapes, CDs, and the repress of our debut LP on both blue/yellow colored and black vinyl!

See you Tuesday night! Doors at 7 pm and we kick it at 8 pm!

🏡 WINCHESTER, VA - We’re coming back to you on SUNDAY MAY 28🏡

We are thrilled to announce that we will be playing at @hopscotchcoffeeandrecords 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY party!!! This is an all day event (4-10pm) with drinks and food from local markets and music from local acts that have played at hopscotch over the years. Our context is that Hopscotch is where we played our very first show back in 2015 (when we were still a 2-piece), we actually opened for Mike Frazier lol sick. It’s also our favorite coffee shop in the whole world and @n8rhodes sold me (Gid) my first vinyl records ever, so it means so much that we get to play for their 10-year celebration. Hometown shows are very special to us ⭐️

All the info is on the flyer. This will be an outdoor event and I believe we are playing last. But come down and chill with us during this beautiful day. We’ll have new merch and we will be drinking a lot of coffee and maybe a beer too 🍻 BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR

5/28/2023
$20 AT THE DOOR
ALL AGES

⛅️ come dance outside with us 🌞

@mikefrazierva and @dogwoodtales will both be there so maybe we’ll cover a Random Holiday song
