Suede Day 10/16 I share this info several times a year but it’s one of my favorite parts of the evolution of the Puma Suede. 2001 Puma Original Suede - Suede Original Through out the 90s the shape and details of the Puma suede had evolved overtime and by 2001 Puma was itching for a return of the shape of the original 1970s Clyde. Unfortunately, they still didn’t hold the rights to use Clyde’s name so they did the next best thing, they made it anyways but without the name. For a brief period from 2001-2003 Puma produced what they referred to as the Original Suede. A model that was surprisingly close in to the OG Made in Yugoslavia 70s & 80s Clyde/ Suede. There seemed to be some confusion at the time as to what to call similar models but with slightly different shapes or materials. This model was originally advertised as the ‘Future Suede’ & sometimes are labeled as Suede Basket but | think Original Suede is the perfect name. #Puma #PumaSuede #SuedeDay #HERZOGANG #MyPumaArchive

ALEXANDER JOHN × PUMA SUEDE “G - TAG” - Made In America Festival Released in 2021 for Jay Zs Roc Nation Made in America Festival. The primary colors on the pair aren’t just a nod to Festival but are also representative of Alexander John’s own blood, sweat and tears put into his journey as an artist. While the gold pays homage to rewards reaped from following your dreams. Each “G-Tag” Suede is completely embellished by hand. From the hand cut heat applied vinyl, to the hand made tag on the side. The sole/midsole is dipped in liquid rubber that peels off over time. Made in limited numbers Each pair is a 1 of 1. On Fri 10/16 the Puma Community celebrates the 1st Annual Suede Day. 🐦 Thanks to a suggestion I have recently finished Re- listening to the complete series of “The Business of HYPE” hosted by @jeffstaple . The stories told and lessons taught by the individuals in these interviews are motivating no matter what business you are in or where you are in life. Jeff Staples impact in the sneaker world, no matter what brand(s) you follow, has always been undeniable. I am blessed that this year not only did I get to meet Jeff in Portland during The Gathering a few months ago but that his store, STAPLE at 21 Mercer Street SoHo NYC, was gracious enough to host our annual Clyde Day event in March which brings the Puma Collective from around the world together to celebrate not just the brand and sneakers but fellowship and community. 👟- The Made in Japan, Jeff Staple x Puma PIGEON, limited to 500 pairs - this release may not bring the tens of thousands of dollars that the 05 Nike SB PIGEON Dunk does but still exist as one of the most sought after and most expensive Pumas in the collectors market. Currently no pairs exist on StockX with the current resale ask range on Grailed, Ebay and other apps being $895-1500. @staplepigeon @staple21mercer #Puma #PumaSuede #SuedeSunday #staplepigeon #MyPumaArchive

🦎 Daniel Ting Chong x Puma Duplex OG 🦎 Sometimes the pairs you want the most are regional releases, limited & take a decade to obtain. Released in 2016 & designed by Cape Town native @danieltingchong this pair draws its rich inspiration from the Zulu creation story of the supreme creator, Unkulunkulu, and a legendary race against time. According to the myth, Unkulunkulu sent a chameleon to Earth to grant humanity immortality. Moving too slowly, the chameleon paused to rest, prompting the creator to send a swift lizard with a different message: that mankind must taste mortality. The lizard arrived first, forever shaping the human experience. This beautiful dichotomy is brought to life right on the custom footbeds, featuring the chameleon on the left and the lizard on the right. The narrative flows across the rest of the shoe through premium nubuck suede in earthy green and rock tones, debossed artwork of Unkulunkulu on the tongue, and a custom typographic heelcap logo—all sitting cleanly atop a classic gum sole. This release was only available at a pair of South African PUMA SELECT locations(Johannesburg & Cape Town) . The first 100 buyers at these locations received custom-curated collector’s gifts designed by Daniel Ting Chong. I’m happy to finally own both the Duplex OG and the Gift Pack - the accompanying socks are. not pictured but find my old post from the Gathering in Portland and I am wearing them with my (nonexistent) Sneaker Freaker Blaze of Glory. #FormstripFriday #Puma #Capetown #SouthAfrican #MyPumaArchive @shelflifestore

🎵 Turn It Up 🎵 Size? Sessions Size? Sessions is a music and event platform ran by UK based streetwear and sneaker retailer @sizeofficial . Originally launched in 2017 it featured in-store and live performances and set up a platform to bridge the gap between sneaker culture and the current music scene. In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the shutdown of live venues, the platform launched the Size? Sessions (20:20 Mix) series. The name being a clever play on the year 2020 - aswell as being the 20th Anniversary of the initial store opening - and the timing of the sets which went live Fridays at 8:20 PM (20:20) on the Size? Mixcloud channel and Facebook/IG. These sets where hosted by a variety of well known artist and DJs such as James Lavelle of UNKLE & Mo’ Wax and Dj, Radio Host & world famous sneaker head Bobbito Garcia. As a tie in Puma introduced Suede Music. This collaboration tied exclusive PUMA Suede drops directly to live music broadcasts while featuring all new music. It served as a launchpad for showcasing prominent up-and-coming artists like Jossy Mitsu, Bel Cobain, and Olivia Dean. To commemorate Size? Sessions & Suede Music several Puma enthusiasts and influencers were gifted Puma x Size? x Lexon Design Mino L Bluetooth Speakers. This is one of the first and few gifts I have ever received from the brand or one of it collaborating partners. @lexondesign @puma.uk @canoeinc @unkleofficial @koolboblove @pumasportstyle This has been a Just.in.puma This & That Thursday #Puma #PumaSuede #SizeSessions #SuedeMusic #MyPumaArchive

Suede Day 10-16-2026 When I think about the Puma Suede I can’t help but dwell on all the History behind it. All the movements. All the communities and individuals it has brought together. No matter how you tell the time line… In his own words Tommy Smith famously raised his fist at the 1968 Olympics - Puma Suede (Crack) in hand - as “A cry for Freedom and For Human Rights” adding “We had to be seen because we couldn’t be heard”. — COMMUNITY. In 1973, Walt “Clyde” Frazier led the NY Knicks to a NBA Championship - wearing the Puma Clyde (Suede) - transforming the social identity and spirit of New York City during deeply challenging era. — COMMUNITY. In the 1980s Bboys, Breakers, Poppers, Writers took to the streets across the United States with their crews wearing the Puma Suede while at the same time in Europe Bboys and early Hip Hop fans where emulating that same style across the pond in Puma States(Suede). — COMMUNITY. In the ‘90 the Puma Suede was cemented in multiple subcultures. Hip Hop, Skate, Grunge. —COMMUNITY. The list never ends; Forever Fresh, The Shadow Society, We Are Puma, Puma Bros…. —COMMUNITY. Yesterday, my dude, @atldrcfox swung into town, toured #MyPumaArchive, and hand delivered me a care package and Puma Suedes on behalf of @puma & @pumabros so I could be fresh for Suede Day. On 10/16 Community members will gather in ATL, NYC and LA for a live photoshoot 📸 . If you are in one of those cities reach out to @suededay1016 for details. If not please still support by making a video saying what the Puma Suede means to you or take & post photos on 10/16 in your favorite pair. #SuedeDay #PumaSuede #SuedeSunday #HerzoGang
