Thank you to everyone who came out to Textile Tactics: Crafting Culture featuring the thoughtful work of Naima Dobbs, Sade Mims, and Mahima “Palika” Sirikulthada! Brought together by Chyna Cassell, we heard each creative speak about the stories that have shaped their practice and the ones they are telling today through textile. It was a joyful evening, connecting on the role of textile in shaping how we show up and sustain our communities and cultures!

textile tactics: crafting culture captured by @wabberjocky for @newyorktextilemonth 🧶 i feel so lucky to have curated and moderated this exhibition and panel featuring the brilliant textile artists and fashion designers that are sade, mahima, and naima — and luckier to call them my friends. i’m so appreciative of their willingness to share their arts and insights with the community 💐 also gratified by how seamless @bklynlibrary for arts & culture makes actualizing my programmatic visions as an independent curator. this was such a collaborative effort so thank you to the (aforementioned) hands and minds that were involved in putting this together. it’s always an honor to bring together talented curious individuals so thank you to everyone who came and engaged with the works and the geniuses behind them ⭐️
