💙team:
it’s a safe space.
It’s NEVER “TMI”.
And while we KNOW “you’re fine” DESPITE being exhausted, peeing when you sneeze, never getting a blessed moment alone, swallowing your angst after a challenging delivery—you ALSO deserve to:
🥹TALK about it.
🥹COMPLAIN about it.
🥹FEEL the FEELS about it.

💙bc if we KEEP collectively saying “but we’re fine!” Then unfortunately we are collectively letting our government and society to continue to do what they do:

😣Withhold adequate maternity leave.
😣Not pay for robust childcare.
😣Not address the tax and toll that pregnancy and childbirth takes on our body

‼️WE know that you’re strong—BUT as a member of the older generation who was absolutely in systematically told to “suck it up, buttercup” I’d like to be the one to say “JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESNT MEAN YOU SHOULD”

💙 we deserve better…

My next *free* postpartum psychosis webinar alongside two-time PPP survivor @aaishaalviwrites is on 11/20. Comment EVENT or click the 🔗 in bio for more info👇👇

For years, postpartum psychosis has been misunderstood — by the public, the media, and even within medicine.

It seems like that is finally starting to change!

I was so glad to see this nuanced piece from @ellenbarryny_ in @nytimes including the important work of @postpartumstress 👍

This piece reflects an important shift toward understanding postpartum psychosis for what it really is: an uncommon, yet treatable and reversible severe psychiatric emergency that can profoundly alter a person’s perception of reality.

As a reproductive psychiatrist, I’ve spent years treating patients with PPP and educating clinicians and the public about this illness. I cannot adequately express how thrilled I am to see the conversation becoming more nuanced.

Because better understanding isn’t just about reducing stigma.

It can help families recognize symptoms earlier, clinicians intervene faster, and mothers get the treatment they need.

THIS is how we save lives and prevent future tragedies ❤️

🛑 Education only. No medical advice.

Disclaimer: I’ve never evaluated Lindsay Clancy and I am not involved in this case in any way. Nothing said in this video is meant to suggest a diagnosis or comment on the treatment she received.

This study called the TAPER (Techniques of Applying Vaginal Estrogen for Prevention of Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections) study has me so mad!!!!!

Mad that I didn’t think to do this study!🤭

Be honest, how many of you thought there was some drama brewing!🤣

No drama, just a really good and important study by Dr Zuo and her team @maryhfa @meganbradleymd_urps kudos

Take away: it’s one study that reinforces that you should prescribe vagin@l estrogen for women with recurrent utis and folks can use the applicator or finger!!!
