🎥 ~ via @nabilnarch | This IRANIAN SONG moved something in me the first time I heard it, something that I couldn’t ignore. I found myself sitting with it for days, reflecting on its weight and its message.

Hesitantly, I decided to use AI and to step into unfamiliar territory to create a video inspired by the lyrics. I’m still learning and navigating the ethics and emotions that come with AI use. And I do understand that artistic growth requires stepping into discomfort, especially in this avalanche of AI progression.

As I worked on the video, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Iranian struggle; about the courage of women specifically who continue to resist in the face of repression, violence, and silencing. Their fight is not isolated. It echoes the wider suffering of women across war zones and conflict areas around the world, where their bodies become battlegrounds and their voices are too often dismissed or erased.

If this video does anything, I hope it encourages us to look more closely, to listen more carefully, and to stand more consciously with women enduring the unimaginable in places like Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, Palestine and beyond.

All wars are ultimately about money,
and all the money is shared between the rich

But in all wars, the poor die,
children die, the elderly die, WOMEN die... 💔

Sometimes I think it’s time for WOMEN
to unite against patriarchal society
and stand up for PEACE, CHILDREN,
and themselves 🕊️

Özgürlük ve vatan toprağı
Kalbimin gözyaşı
Ölümle hayat arasında yolcuyum
Senin kaybetmekten korktuğunu bilirim
Acılı gözlere bakmak
Ki sen hiç görmesen
Bu bahar başlangıcının ardındaki sözü

Cumhuriyet yüzü zambaklara benzer
Cumhuriyet bahçesinde insanlar gezinir

Gece sarmıştı , küme küme yıldızlar serpilmişti
Aklımdaki aydınlık zamanlara
Bu özlem sönecekti
Evet, ben hiç böyle eksik ölüm görmemiştim
Duvardaki saat duracaktı

İnsan sesleri, çocuk sesleri, siren sesleri
Dünya, ah bu toprak parçası
Gemiler limanlarda yorgun
Kalbim, kalpler korkak ve umutsuz

Adamın rüyasına savaş sokulur

Bu baharda yağmuru görsek
Dünya kardeş olacaktı

Gazeteler savaş yazıyor
İran, Amerika, İsrail diye
Ben hiç böylesini görmemiştim
165 kız çocuğunun okuduğu okul vuruldu

Adamın rüyasına savaş sokulur

Şimdi bütün bir bahar yağmur yağsa
Ölmüş çocuklar var ve ölecek çocuklar

Savaş, savaş, savaş

Sokaklar yorulur, uykuya yatar şehirler
Yıldızların kaybolduğu yerdeyim
Yine uzaktan siren sesleri duyulur
Savaş, cehennem kıvılcımıyla dolu
Kesik bir kol gibi acı ve gerçek

Adamın rüyasına savaş sokulur

My people in Iran have been suffering under the oppressive Islamic regime for 47 years. An estimated 37,000-90,000 innocent civilians have been killed by the hands of their own evil government in the last month. Thousands more are imprisoned and awaiting executions simply for asking for basic human rights and freedom. May the freedom of my people be near. We are a civilization older than 2500 years old and children of Cyrus the Great. The last 47 years don’t define us. Be the voice of #iran. #freeiran #iranrevolution2026 #persian #stopexecutionsiniran

My Friends by Hisham Matar is not just a novel—it’s a soul-deep experience. Rarely do we meet characters not as names on a page but as people we grow to know intimately. Matar’s storytelling is quietly powerful, immersing you in lives shaped by exile, memory, and unwavering friendship.

This is a heartfelt ode to friendship—how it survives war, distance, and time. Set against the backdrop of Libya’s political unrest, Matar offers a vivid yet accessible portrayal of a country’s torment for those unfamiliar with its past. He writes not to educate, but to connect—with dignity and depth.

Perfect for those who appreciate literary fiction that explores both personal and political truths. And for Friendship Day? It’s the most fitting reminder of how human bonds persist even in the darkest chapters of history.

A poignant, beautifully written five-star read.

Oldest Living City

📍 Damascus, Syria | Stop 35/136 on Ibn Battuta’s Journey

Over five thousand years of history… still alive today? Believe it. Damascus isn’t just old—it’s timeless.

Ibn Battuta was deeply moved by Damascus. He studied with scholars, strolled through its leafy gardens, and called the Umayyad Mosque one of the most magnificent in the world. He described the city as a place of beauty, learning, and endless charm.

But trust me—Damascus never lets its age slow it down. Step into Souq al-Hamidiyah, wander through the Citadel, and you’ll feel centuries of life unfolding around you. Locals sip strong coffee in shaded courtyards, sharing stories like time doesn’t exist.

What is the oldest place you have ever been to? Tell us below!
