I’m honored to be one of six Austin poets selected for Traces, the poetry counterpart to Layers of Place: Austin, a civic AR exhibition spearheaded by MIT Open Documentary Lab’s Augmented Reality and Public Space Artist Collective. My poem, “MISSING IT,” responds to “HUMBLE MONUMENTS” by Nadav Assor, Rashin Fahandej, and Joanna Wright, one of six AR works installed in public spaces across downtown Austin. You can go check it out now on the lawn behind Trader Joe’s by the lake! The interactive element is very cool and it feels like you’re combing for shells in air 🌀 You can read all six poems and learn more about the AR works in Austin at layersofplaceaustin.com. Supported in part by an Elevate Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music & Entertainment.

Last week, the Bushnell Digital Team joined several incredible partners for Street Light, an outdoor video projection and music event in New London! We helped Connecticut College students bring their art to life with a large-scale projection across the Garde Arts Center, just in time to celebrate the Garde’s 100th anniversary. The night also marked the grand opening of WE LIVE HERE, an exhibit exploring housing past, present, and future, curated by Centers for Housing Opportunity, the Ammerman Center for Arts & Technology, and Connecticut College. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special night! Projection design by Isaac Merwin (cc ‘26) and Augie Loredo (cc ‘28) with guidance from CC Prof. Nadav Assor

We are thrilled to announce Layers of Place: Austin will premiere at @SXSW on March 15 - 17! Layers of Place is a site-responsive AR exhibition that transforms Austin’s public spaces into portals for memory, dialogue and imagination, revealing hidden histories and speculative futures through location-based works created in dialogue with community partners. Comprising of six different AR experiences, Layers of Place will take over the city of Austin in a first of its kind exhibition at SXSW. Join Agog’s @SXSW How to Fest Community Meetup tomorrow at 4pm ET / 1pm PT for a sneak peak at one of our experiences, the Founders Pillars, and hear from the project’s research scientist Sarah Wolozin @sarah_wolozin and artist Rashin Fahandej @rashinfahandej
